Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Shey Jennings. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Shey, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I can definitely say that taking risk are one of my favorite things to do not because I’m a thrill seeker but because it’s necessary for you to evolve as a person.

Shey, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello all, I’m the lead Artisan and founder of The Firefly Box. A skincare brand that use Mother Nature in every product. From fresh fruits, florals and herbs.
Our mission is in a nutshell is to reroute the everyday busy person back to enjoying the simple things in life and most importantly motivating each and every person that the most rewarding gift we can ever give to ourselves is time for ourselves and why not do it with the support of the multi-benefical ingredients of earth.
We celebrate all skin types and all routines from herbal salt baths to scented and unscented skincare essentials like nostalgic body butters and creative soap bars.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the most enormous mountains I had to overcome was to unlearn that history or the “they’s” in life don’t apply to everyone. And though at times society tends to steer to the same image of what happiness and success should look and feel like, I can tell you honestly I too believed in this.
I believed that art was not worthy and couldn’t support me. And being in an environment of people who didn’t see art as an actual career made it easier to believe in this narrative.
But like most destiny-written stories fate has a funny way of returning to us, and mine ?… well it returned in my despair and not in the same image of what I envisioned for myself when I was young but a colosso of both worlds. One side of the science society told me to know and the art my soul yarned to express.
A masterpiece of being human and caring for the body in a fufiling and nurturing way. A skincare brand derived from earth with the sole intention to give healing to body in countless ways. From soaking in a salt bath full of warm water brewed from lavender and oatmeal to the gentle touch of body butter to help feed and protect the skin.
It was all art but in the image self-care of ones body. A revolution of smiles to saying no to fillers and preservatives and confident yes to something new something true.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Society isn’t just a single persons word, it’s all of our thoughts being repeated to each other and turning those ideas into beliefs.
Growing as a society we have to see that art is no longer just in the form of classical paint and piano. Modern art has now transformed into every part of life and seeing that talent either in yourself or another should be nurtured and grown into it’s full potential.
Society grows as we grow and today we are seeing more art than ever , my wish is for the creatives that seek guidance in coming out their shells and expressing that art, is to let them know that the hardest step is just accepting that joy you get from doing what it is that you love and know that it can and will change your life and the more you surround yourself around that thing, the less scary it becomes.
As for society please continue making space for us in your world rather it be festivals , showcases ,sponsorships or meet an artist day. The more we are welcomed into your everyday life the more we can change the narrative of what art has done for us all and just how uniquely helpful it can be.
