We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sherry Wiggins. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sherry below.
Sherry , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
My husband, Dave is a 3rd generation bee keeper. We named our venue space Honey Acres Ranch to honor his family’s commitment to keeping the honey bee protected and keeping honey production local for our community to enjoy.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have been in the hospitality industry my whole adult life. From working in a sports bar or pizza kitchen to being the food and beverage director of a major golf community and resort. It has always been a passion of mine to take care of people. It’s very satisfying to create a space and serve a product and get amazing results. At the beginning stages of planing to build of our venue, every detail was made with our couples and their guests in mind. Making sure there are flawless transitions from one space to the next. Having areas where guests can take a break, and enjoy the properly was very important as well. In a very short time, we created more than what we ever imagined. We are very proud, especially since most of the work was done with our own hands.
We take our job of hosting one of most important days of our couples lives very seriously and we do everything we can to make sure that day is exactly how they planned. At Honey Acres we are a bit different from other venues in that our rental pricing is exactly what we quote. We do not up-charge for guest count, decor, or added time for set-up. If we have the day before the event available, our couples are welcome to have access to set up without an additional fee. We include yard games, a bon fire, and so much more all without additional fees. If we have it, it’s yours to use! We love to help make wedding dreams reality, and our couples send us so many thoughtful reviews because if it.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
David, my husband and partner at Honey Acres. We dated for 5 years and married several years ago. He is a retired sheriff’s deputy, so he went from saying “no, you can’t do that” to “of course you can”

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
We are very responsive to our couples. I can remember when I was planning our wedding how many unknowns there were and how I had to plan a bit blindly because the venue we rented was only set for 2 visits with us for pre planning. It was sometimes concerning how long I would have to wait for a reply to an email or phone call.
We do our best to respond to new inquiries within one to two hours and also try to have them on property the same week that they have reached out. Our couples are also allowed to set up times to come out whenever they have questions or need to meet to choose decor, etc.
