Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sherry Ward. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sherry , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you tell us about an important lesson you learned while working at a prior job?
One of the most important lessons I ever learned came during my very first internship, at just sixteen years old, working at Rockwell International on the Space Shuttle Challenger. On January 28, 1986, my coworkers and I stood in a massive airplane hangar, watching the launch on big-screen TVs, filled with pride, anticipation, and celebration.
Seventy-three seconds later, the shuttle exploded before our eyes.
The mission didn’t fail because of something massive—it failed because of a small, overlooked part: a faulty O-ring. Despite engineers’ warnings, that one detail was dismissed. That tragedy taught me two truths that still shape everything I do:
The smallest things matter.
Timing is everything.
Today, as CEO of Square Tree Publishing & Productions, I carry that lesson forward, reminding authors and my film crew that launching too soon—before they’re truly ready—can derail not just a dream, but a destiny. I don’t just help people launch books or films. I help launch people—into purpose, with integrity, healing, and God’s perfect timing.
Because destiny isn’t just about what you do—it’s about who you’re becoming.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Sherry Ward—CEO of Square Tree Publishing & Productions, founder of Christian Creators 360, and author of Launching YOU. I help people do more than publish a book—I help them launch their purpose. Whether it’s writing a legacy piece, expanding their influence, or building a high-impact business, I guide authors from concept to calling through strategy, prophetic insight, and done-for-you support.
My journey began eleven years ago when I wrote my first book—and quickly found others asking me to help with theirs. That’s when I realized publishing isn’t just about books. It’s about helping people release what they were created to carry. That realization gave birth to Square Tree.
Today, we offer full-service publishing, including ghostwriting, coaching, and production. Through our new division, Lore & Legacy, we also help fiction authors create powerful brands, adapt their books into scripts, and prepare pitches for film. We’ve even produced two award-winning sci-fi thrillers. But what truly sets us apart is this: we don’t just launch books—we launch people.
We partner with high-level CEOs, creatives, and emerging leaders to turn their stories into intellectual property that builds authority, attracts leads, and opens strategic doors. But above all, we’re known for our integrity, transparency, and commitment to transformation.
What I’m most proud of isn’t just the projects—it’s the people. The single moms who find their voice. The business leaders who turn influence into legacy. The authors who didn’t think they had a story—until they saw just how powerful it really was.
Because publishing isn’t just about printing pages. It’s about stewarding a message that can change lives. And we’re here to help launch not just your book…but YOU!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Integrity and transparency—two qualities the publishing world isn’t always known for—have been the foundation of everything we do. At Square Tree Publishing and Lore & Legacy Press, we don’t believe in high-pressure sales tactics or hiring “closers” to push authors into packages. We simply present what we offer with honesty, clarity, and confidence. If someone walks away, it usually means they weren’t a fit for our values—and we’re completely at peace with that.
Our growth has come organically, through referrals and word-of-mouth. Authors share their positive experiences with our team, and that kind of authentic connection has built a reputation we’re proud of. We’re not just building books—we’re building relationships rooted in trust, excellence, and shared purpose.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I used to believe that the most important factor in a business partnership was skill. But I had to unlearn that—the hard way.
Years ago, I partnered with someone who was incredibly talented but also very controlling. To be fair, I wasn’t in a healed place either. We were constantly butting heads—both trying to steer the business, both wrestling for control. The deeper issue wasn’t strategy or skill—it was unhealed places in both of us. And that created tension, power struggles, and miscommunication that held everything back.
That experience was a wake-up call. I realized that if I wanted healthier partnerships, I needed to do my own inner healing first. Once I did that, everything shifted.
Now, I only partner with people who’ve done the inner work. Skill still matters—but what matters more is emotional health, self-awareness, and the ability to communicate with honesty and humility. Because conflict is inevitable in business—but with healed people, it becomes a bridge, not a battlefield.
