We were lucky to catch up with Sherry Lopez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sherry, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
When I started this boutique with casual chick and premium athleisurewear, my mission was to carefully curate quality styles that will appeal to the fashion needs of my clients. To provide them with comfortable, flattering styles that will make them feel as beautiful as they look.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Before I was a wife, a boy mom, and an automotive engineer, I always had a passion for fashion. But it wasn’t until 2021 that I pursued an opportunity to put my passion to work by creating my own business, Sherry’s Style Boutique, focused on causal chic & premium athleisurewear. When the pandemic came, many of us (myself included) were forced to work from home full time, blurring the line between “work” and “life” – right down to influencing the way we dressed. I’ve always led an active lifestyle but working from home created the need for clothing that could be worn for both active and more casual pursuits – all without sacrificing style. The answer? Casual chic and premium athleisurewear, with its versatile and durable fabrics, is the perfect combination of comfort and style. Working from home may have initially created a need for this type of clothing, but now comfort and style have become inseparable for me. I may go back to the office, but I don’t want to go back to the time when I didn’t wear comfortable clothing. Because clothing has always been my happy place, I wanted to share this passion with others. Fashion is powerful. It gives women the confidence that comes from looking and feeling their best. I want to help my clients achieve this by sourcing the most versatile, stylish – but above all, comfortable – styles of casual chic & premium athleisurewear that can move with you throughout the day to evening…and everything in between.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I always wanted to start my own business but wasn’t sure how to do that and balance a full-time career in the auto industry. In the summer of 2021, I took an opportunity to start my own business through a direct sales company. This seemed like a safe path since I could try to start my own business, however, I had always planned to expand beyond just the products of the direct sales company. I started selling to my family and friends, then started selling on social media. As people started buying and loving the stylish quality clothing, my clientele expanded. I was consistently in the Top 10 of sales of the direct sales company as well as number 2 in the country for new clients for 2021 even with starting in August and then number one in 2022. Just as I was highlighted at the direct sales company for all these accomplishments, there was an announcement that the direct sales company would be going out of business by year end. Despite the loyalty and support from clients, Covid hit our small business pretty hard and just couldn’t bounce back. But as they say, as one door closes another door opens. This pushed me to go on my own and expand beyond the direct sales company, something I always planned to do but thought I would do much later. I created my own website to continue selling casual chic & premium athleisure styles. I scoured the fashion world for brands that would fit the active & casual lifestyles of myself and my clients without sacrificing style, quality or comfort.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Integrity and trust were important to me when I started my own business. As I mentioned, I took this opportunity to work with a direct sales company to start my own business. But I bought the clothes, I wore the clothes, and I washed and dried the clothes to make sure they would be good quality. I wanted to make sure if I was selling to my family and friends, I would be able to stand behind the clothes and they would trust what I was selling to them was worth the money they were spending. As I transitioned from the direct sales company to a full boutique, I continued to make sure that I can stand behind my brand. I try to find brands to sell that will continue to bring confidence in my clients and that will be worth the money they spend at my website.
