We recently connected with Sherrie Papa and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Sherrie , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about the best advice you’ve ever given to a client? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
Something I find myself sharing with patients on nearly a daily basis is that healthcare isn’t simply something that happens within the walls of a doctors office when a symptom shows up – that is actually sick care! Healthcare is about engaging a lifestyle that allows us to cultivate health and the best version of ourselves.
Navigating the hectic pace of life often leaves us on overwhelm and we easily ignore the nagging little pains, the brain fog, the short fuse with our spouse and kids when fatigue has the better of us. Those little symptoms are like our check engine light going off and so many of us keep pushing through putting our body, mind and spirit at the bottom of our to-do list.
What I’ve seen time and time again that taking the time to invest in your health in small ways over time pays dividends. From small tweaks in our sleep routines, or changes to diet or regular chiropractic care; these all add up to true care of health that leave you not just without symptoms but truly thriving.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
As a child, I grew up seeing chiropractors and by the time I was 12 years old knew that was what I wanted to be when I grew up. I can be really stubborn once I make my mind up about something and this idea stuck, I’m about to hit my 22nd anniversary of being a chiropractor and my 5th year of being located in Franklin!
In addition to holistic chiropractic care, I offer cranial work, soft tissue therapies, functional nutrition coaching and soon to add acupuncture to the mix. Learning is my love language, and I’m always researching new ways I can be of better service to those I see in my practice.
I have always focused on holistic family care in my practice – when you come to my office you might notice that entire families show up together to be cared for. I know many people often think of chiropractors when they think of back pain and that is certainly why many people find their way to my office. It’s so much fun to get to be part of removing the burden of pain from someone’s life, but the magic happens when people find what lies beyond simple relief from symptoms.
What I often hear from my clients is that they truly value the extra time I spend with them, making sure they are never rushed through like a production factory. I am here to help you reclaim a little bit of calm, peace and joy in your life
Have you ever had to pivot?
Before moving to Franklin, TN I had already started and run my own practice for about seventeen years. When I arrived, I wanted to take a moment of pause to get to know the community before setting up a practice, and then covid happened. Of course I felt as overwhelmed as everyone else did with the uncertainty of that time, and my big dreams has to be stuffed into a small start in single room practice.
But, over the few years as my business grew and my relationships with other holistic providers in that space, we grew our dreams of offering a holistic one stop shop where women could come for their all of their healthcare needs as well as the needs of their kids. This dream needed the incubation space that happened all because of covid. And, in 2024 this collective healthcare space is coming to fruition!
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
If I could go back, I would chose the same profession over and over and over again. I can’t imagine a job I’d find as meaningful and rewarding of helping people get out of pain, find the energy they need to show up for themselves and families the way they want to, solve chronic heatlh problems and feel their best.
