We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sherri Wick. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sherri below.
Sherri, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success is not just about achievements or ticking boxes on society’s checklist—it’s about examining life through a lens of healthiness and wellness, and redefining what it means to live well. To me, success is about living intentionally, with authenticity, clarity, and purpose, rather than blindly following societal norms or trends pushed by social media and influencers. Success is not about living with blinders on; it’s about continuous learning and discovering how to live life with less grind and more alignment, integrating wellness into every aspect of your life.
True success comes when we narrow down our purpose with clarity, ensuring that the time we have and the energy we spend align with what truly matters. For much of my early life, success was defined by external expectations: finishing school, following rules, and meeting milestones set by others. I earned my master’s degree, listened to my mother, and followed the “right” path. But it wasn’t about truly learning who I was, understanding my values, or setting personal boundaries.
It wasn’t until I got older—dating, marrying, and becoming a parent—that I grasped what success really means. I realized it’s about being in a community with others, sharing both the hard times and the joys. It’s about pushing out of your comfort zone to build and stabilize the life you want to live. Success is understanding that you can pay off debt and invest at the same time, rather than feeling stuck in a cycle of frustration, “robbing Peter to pay Paul.”
Success is unlearning unhealthy relationships within all aspects of wellness—financial, occupational, social, emotional, environmental, and spiritual—and redefining them in ways that serve you. It’s about setting boundaries, saying no when necessary, and taking care of your well-being unapologetically.
Most importantly, success is a mindset. It can be experienced daily, in small, meaningful choices. It’s being intentional with your time, prioritizing your health, and pursuing an authentic life. Through the different seasons of my life, I’ve learned that success is fluid. It evolves as we grow, and it’s most powerful when it aligns with who we are and the life we truly want to live.
Sherri, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Can you open up about a time when you had a really close call with the business?
The Change Healthcare cyberattack in February 2024 was a defining moment for my business, testing our resilience, faith, and leadership. As one of the largest breaches of protected health information in history, it disrupted healthcare providers nationwide, including us. For months, from February to early June, we didn’t receive funding for processed claims, a financial blow that left us struggling to sustain operations and fulfill payroll. Even now, as the year closes, many of those claims remain unpaid, forcing us to end the year at a loss.
During this time, I sent a heartfelt email to my team to provide transparency about our situation. I shared that while we were exploring ways to adapt, such as potentially transitioning to a monthly payroll schedule for sustainability, we were committed to navigating these challenges without compromising their well-being. I was upfront about the delays in claim payments, the slower reimbursement timelines from insurance providers, and the steps we were taking to resolve the issues, including working with TherapyNotes to implement a new ERA processing system. Despite these setbacks, I assured my team that closing the business was not an option, even as I considered difficult decisions like pausing 401K matching to weather the storm.
The email reflected my belief in open communication and integrity as a leader. It was essential to me that my team understood the challenges we were facing together and knew that every decision was being made with their best interests in mind. I acknowledged the potential disruptions to their financial wellness while committing to keeping them informed every step of the way.
What kept us going during these difficult months was my unwavering faith and belief in God. Week after week, it was a close call, but through prayer and perseverance, we never missed payroll. I see this as nothing short of a miracle and a testament to the power of faith and teamwork. This period taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, transparency, and the strength of a united team. Even in the most trying times, honesty and compassion allowed us to face adversity together, and I am deeply grateful for the perseverance and understanding of my team throughout this journey.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing our clientele has undoubtedly been referrals. Referrals have consistently been our most reliable and impactful means of attracting new clients. Our existing clients trust the work we do because they experience meaningful change in their own lives, and that change doesn’t go unnoticed by those around them.
When clients see their growth and others witness the transformation, it naturally sparks conversations and recommendations. This word-of-mouth validation not only reinforces the trust and credibility of our services but also creates a sense of community and connection. People are drawn to what works, and seeing tangible results in someone they know inspires them to seek the same support and guidance.
Referrals are powerful because they come from a place of authenticity. They reflect the genuine impact our work has on individuals, and for that, I am incredibly grateful. It’s a testament to the dedication, care, and commitment we pour into our services and the relationships we build with our clients.
