Sherie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
My parents pushed me to follow my bliss when it wasn’t popular. I have a BS in Fashion Marketing and many thought that I was crazy to go into that particular field because during those times studying fashion was not popular. My parents, however; were extremely supportive and knew thar I would have success in whatever career I decided to pursue.
Sherie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m the stylemaker for the eponymous brand Sherie L. Nevett, and I knew at a young age that the fashion industry would be my home. My brand, SLN offers a modernist approach mixed with sophisticated elegance. Our bold prints, whimsical patterns and fun shapes are apart of SLN’s culture. We embrace and are embraced by the woman who is a leader of style.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Remaininy true to SLN’s DNA shows the integrity of our brand. We are approaching 10 years of being an established brand, but that came by keeping our brand identity at the forefront of our minds when introducing new concepts and strategies.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
My cofounder/business partner is my husband, Bobby Nevett. We met at Starbucks 19 years ago, I took his last name (Nevett) and the rest is history…haha. I believe having a strong support system is the foundation to longevity.
