Sherice, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?

My parents are the foundation of my business mindset and ethics. My mom has passed away now, but I learned so many lessons on how to be an amazing business owner through her and my father. After having me and my three siblings, they decided that they wanted to be present for all of the precious moments in our lives. Working a 9 to 5 job didn’t give them the flexibility to be around as much as they wanted, so they jumped out in faith and started their own daycare. It wasn’t an easy task, but they taught me so much unknowingly. I was always watching them and soaking up every little detail. They taught me that good business is not just about making money, but it is also about truly caring for the people connected to it. My parents were a part of the daycare children’s development and helped the lives of so many of them and their families. They made each one of their families feel special and cared for.

I have carried over these same principles into my styling business, Sherie Renell. I take pride in not just creating great looks but also sparking something on the inside of my clients that makes them feel unstoppable, confident, and brave.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I have been a fashion and wardrobe stylist for over a decade. I am an industry professional that introduces confidence, boldness, and style to each one of my clients. Fashion is an expression of who we are, and I love having the opportunity to make someone shine.

Growing up in Detroit, I didn’t always have access to high fashion pieces. This forced me to be creative in creating quality looks. The misconception is that fashionable looks are not available to everyone but they are. You just need to know how to find them. These experiences have made me an expert at making fashion work for everyone. I tailor exclusive styling packages for each of my clients, meeting everyone’s specific target price point.

I have worked with top companies such as Nordstrom, Macys, David’s Bridal, Tapper’s Jewelry Store, and top beauty brands such as Chanel and Dior. My services include but are not limited to fashion, editorial, e-commerce, and wardrobe styling (virtual and in-person), photoshoot coordination, and graphic design services for my clients’ brands.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?

I feel that it is very important to create a bond between you and your customer. They need to feel special and feel like they can relate to you. After a styling session with my clients, I send them a personal text or email thanking them for trusting me as their fashion expert. I also recap our session and open the floor up for any additional questions they may have for me. When I ship off a virtual styling package, it has a handwritten note specific to that client. It creates open communication with my clients which not only makes them a returning customer but also gives them a desire to refer their friends and family.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

What helped me build my reputation in my market is as simple as my integrity and how I treat people. I pride myself at being reliable, on time, knowledgeable, and willing to lend a hand to other businesses, even those that do the same work as me. Collaboration is key in this industry. Each project and new client I have received was by word of mouth and referral. I left lasting impressions that made them think of me for upcoming projects. People are always watching and you never know who is in the room. It is important to present yourself with professionalism at all times.
