Sherene, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
My business came from a dream from my earlier 20’s. When I transitioned back to 100% Plant based style of eating. My creativity was reenergized for the love of cooking. I started with word of mouth referrals from one customer to another. Then we started supplying for a local vegan cafe. I wanted keep the spirit of my mother and grandmother in mine. My goal has always been to provide Plant based delicious Love in each dish. After covid I started doing Pop ups around the city of Orlando. Then I received a call this asking me if I would like a space. I said yes without thinking. I want everyone to experience love and kindness through my food. My grandmother alway said it cost you nothing to be kind. You never know whether you are entertaining Angel’s unaware.
I am 55 years young still taking risk and building a legacy. LillyRose VC Bakery & More is three years old this year. LillyRose VC Bakery & More is named after My grandmother Lillian Keys Johnson. She was a woman of class, grace, kindness, love and hospitality. All the elements I try to embody in my company

My name Sherene D Smith, I am a former Manager from the banking industry. Whom left industry in 2014 to pursue entrepreneurship. I founded loan broker company. Then LillyRose VC Bakery &More in 2020.
My mission is to provide Plant based decadent Desserts and meals. Dishes that took time like your grandmother use to make. Meals that takes time to develop flavors. Meals you can order for your whole family.
What I am most proud of that my customers that are non- plant based enjoy the food and desserts. And they come back. They don’t feel cheated or like they are missing anything. Which gives me an opportunity to talk with some of them about considering Plant based lifestyle of eating.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
