We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sherelle Nabors a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Sherelle, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My parents were extremely hard working people. Both held a strong entrepreneurial spirit. My dad worked hard for a company over 25 years. My mom had a home daycare in our basement for over 10 years and then finally decided to expand and get a building. She moved her business into that building and started a daycare center and preschool. Seeing the both them elevate while facing trial and error was extremely inspirational. They were pretty tough on us when it came to life and education. The both of them demonstrated strength, love, independence and leadership. All of these attributes definitely rubbed off on me. I always new I wanted to have my own business while helping and inspiring women. With my spa I can do both, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I major lesson I had to learn is not to dwell on my setbacks. I had to learn everything happens for a reason and I have to relax in my faith. If I had to give advice to aspiring entrepreneurs it would be go with what your gut is telling you. Taking a risk is great but make sure you do not over exert yourself.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
In order successfully succeed in your field you first have to believe in yourself & brand. Next you have to be consistent and show up. Be patient with yourself. Educate yourself constantly on what you are doing. Get a mentor and constantly do your research. But my main advice is to remain patient, positive and consistent.
