We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sheraton Liv a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Sheraton, thanks for joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
I do wish I had started my jewelry business earlier. When I was younger, I was eager to explore entrepreneurship on my own and didn’t want to follow in my family’s footsteps.
The first company I launched was almost an instant success. In fact, I became one of the leading companies in the industry at the time. While that may sound ideal to many, achieving overnight success as a young adult was tough to navigate. I quickly realized that success built over time and through perseverance is far more valuable, as it gives you the chance to understand how you’ve arrived at where you are. With my early success, I lacked that deep understanding of the business landscape and competition. Other companies learned from our successes and improved upon our ideas.
So, as I mentioned, I truly wish I had started my jewelry business sooner, as it took longer to build, but the journey has been rewarding in its own way.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I was lucky enough to grow into a family of jewelers. I heard pretty awful things about the business as I learned about the jewelry industry. There was that movie Blood Diamonds that made me think poorly about diamonds. Then there was the geology class I took and I learned about De Beers. I started my business because lab diamonds came about and that was an industry I can get behind.
The best part about lab diamonds is that I get to save my clients a ton of money. Diamonds themselves don’t hold much value. Gold hold its value really well and it can also go up in value. I save my clients a lot of money as they don’t have to spend much on lab diamonds. Most of it goes to the gold in the jewelry.
In the world we live in today, I do believe that jewelry plays an important role to share our love and commitment to one another. It is unfair that we have to dig deep into our wallets to make that happen. I really am proud that I am able to pass as much savings to my clients.
Finding the right jewelers to trust can take time, and we’re committed to ensuring our clients feel proud to wear and share their jewelry. We place a strong emphasis on quality craftsmanship in every piece we create.
Another aspect I truly enjoy is the opportunity to cultivate meaningful connections with my clients. In many industries, including my previous business, mass production often takes priority, making it difficult to focus on the unique needs of each person. In my current business, every client is valued, and I’m able to build trust and foster personalized relationships with each individual.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
Have you ever heard of Lunar New Year? It takes place every January or February. Traditionally, married adults give red envelopes filled with money to unmarried family members. As a child, I’d collect my red envelopes and hand them over to my parents. They had set up a bank account for me, and over the years, I was able to save the money I received. By the time I turned 19, I had saved a little over $10,000, and that became the initial capital I used to start my business!

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
People often warn against working with your significant other, but I’m one of the lucky ones. My wife is not only my partner in life but also my cofounder and business partner. We work really well together—I’m the dreamer, and she’s the realist, the realist helps the dreamer from flying too close to the sun. Together, we balance each other out and she helps me realize my visions.
