We recently connected with Sheldon Bethea and have shared our conversation below.
Sheldon, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
I purchased my first clinic from a retiring Chiropractor. The clinic was staffed with a receptionist who was actually more of the office manager. I would always refer to her whenever I was unsure of a decision to be made. One day she politely stopped me and said “ Doc, this is your office, run it the way you want it run”. Defining Moment.

Sheldon, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Dr. Sheldon, as known to my patients, is a 1997 graduate of Life University, Marietta, GA. Before enrolling in chiropractic college, I worked at UPS, first as a loader, then as a delivery driver. Working for UPS taught me to be efficient and prideful in my work. I also realized that I did not want to deliver packages all of my life. I had always been interested in healthcare, but was never fond of the allopathic model of treating symptoms. Chiropractic was the natural choice at that time. Since graduating from Life University, I have worn many chiropractic hats and served a diverse group of chiropractic patients. Having run and managed my own clinics for several years, I have learned and developed many hats in the chiropractic arena; including marketing, upkeep of patient records, insurance coding and billing, as well as, of course, treating patients. A majority of my chiropractic expertise comes in the treatment of personal injury patients, however, I am very capable of treating maintenance patients as well. I have studied a variety of adjustment techniques and uses all, as needed, in treating patients. I am also well versed in fitness training and conditioning, I developed an athletic performance and conditioning program called “UP YOUR GAME”, which helped middle school, high school and college athletes train more efficiently, using chiropractic as a training tool as well as for treatment. I have served as team physician/trainer for Voices of Faith Running Eagles track club, staff chiropractor/trainer for McClendon Performance Arts Institute of Dance, Life University Ambassador, and team trainer at the Georgia Games to name a few. I am a believer that the power that made the body heals the body and I am honored to serve the healthcare needs of all my patients with compassion and care!

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
My success is totally due to having and showing love and respect for each and every patient. Each of us are individuals uniquely made and deserve access to quality, affordable healthcare. My office is a safe haven for EVERYONE.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think success in building my practice is due to a mutual respect and understanding of my patient base. I think by allowing my personality to show and respecting my patients not only makes them comfortable, it allows for the law of attraction to funnel the relationship.
