Shelbi, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

I grew up with my mom hanging crystals in the windows of our home. The rainbows that reflected into the house were magical to watch dance and helped transport you to a playful and peaceful place. My mom and I always had a fascination for decor that twinkles, but didn’t find much of a variety anywhere we searched. That’s when the idea for Sun Catchers by Shelbi was sparked! I set out to create beautiful decor that shines and can be customized to fit everyone’s style, using unique combinations of beads, mirrors, gems, stones, ornaments, chimes and wind spinners. Bringing more shine to the world is my mission and with every sun catcher, the world gets a little brighter!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

As someone who loves to sparkle in every way, I set forth to create one-of-a-kind indoor and outdoor decor that can be completely customizable. Sun Catchers by Shelbi are not only for decoration however, they can also help deter birds from nesting on your patio! I very much enjoy collaborating with customers and working together to achieve exquisite sun catchers that invoke sentimentality. From the color scheme, to the shapes, to the bead type and mirror placement, every step of the creative process is deliberate and doused with love!

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

My bright and ambitious personality has played a major role in helping build my business reputation. Networking and communication have been the biggest factors in helping grow my business. The location where I started my business, Wolf Ranch Farmer’s Market in Georgetown, has been a huge business advantage because of the high volume of customers and vendors you see every week of the year.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?

My business partner is someone who I have known and loved my entire life, my mom, Jodi Pepper. Her crystals in the windows of our home were the inspiration behind my business! Not only is Jodi my inspiration, she also paints the breathtaking watercolor artwork that I sell. Watching the emotional reaction that her art evokes is truly an honor!
