We recently connected with Sheida Jenkins and have shared our conversation below.
Sheida, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
While traveling to different countries I enjoyed documenting my travels for my own personal archive and sometimes sharing them with friends and family, especially when they would ask for a recommendation to what places to go for a nice and calm vacation, honey moon, solo traveling , etc. Giving tips and advice motivated me to share these experiences with more people. So I started travel blogging and I got really great feedback soon after I started.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I travel and I create content including recommendations for destinations, accommodations, and activities. What I think makes each one of us distinct from each other is our personal experiences. In my case, travel blogging could be done in a lot of different ways and that’s absolutely depend on our individual interests, values and passions. With sharing my stories while traveling I find people who has same or similar interests.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Simply being myself, and also as helpful and responsive as possible. I have great communication with my fans and followers and always try to stay 100% honest about what I’m recommending them, whether is a restaurants, hotels, museums, travel agencies , tours or any businesses that I work with.
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
I have found that the best resource is experience. That said, I wish I would have started my travel journey sooner, and that is actually one of the reasons that I try to motivate younger people to not be afraid, take the first step, travel and see the world and all the amazing things that it has to offer. and of course sharing their own unique stories with others and helping them grow and develop their passions as well.
