Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sheena Willis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sheena, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
My Emma’s Line & Boutique is named after my daughter Emmaline.
I started with children boutique items right after I had my daughter and wanted a store name that stood out. I knew I would have collections and lines as my business model, so using My Emma’s Line was a great play on my companies vision and her name!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I grew into making t-shirts over time. Originally My Emma’s Line started mommy robes & swaddles. It made sense since I was a new mom. Then as my kids grew my interest did. My customers also grew, we met when they were having children, and they stayed because I began offering birthday shirts, family vacation shirts and more. I’m a creative at heart. Always making something new, embellishing something I love, or learning how through tutorials. This past year I’ve focused on making items that make me happy. Styles that I love. And I’m thankful my following loves it too!
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Since day one I’ve been my authentic self online. My following has been there with me to celebrate some of my greatest moments as a person and a small business owner, but they have also been there at my lowest.
I talk often about my mental health, and what I do to better myself, the ups and downs of my motherhood journey, and loosing people close to me.
People want to support those they make a connection with. By staying true to yourself online and in person you will make those connections and build a rock solid community.
How’d you meet your business partner?
It’s a running joke, Emmaline is the employee of the month – every month. My now 7 year old was by my side since day one as a small business owner. She’s was the inspiration for almost everything, has a “we can do it” spirit, and has also reminded me when I need to take a break to snuggle.
