We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sheena Jenkinson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sheena below.
Alright, Sheena thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with a fun one – what’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?
After crossing over from the underwriting side of the mortgage industry and helping other people start their business, I realize that it’s not a lot of working together. That should take place in order for everyone to be successful. Particularly in the mortgage industry I strongly believe real estate agents in loan officers should be on the same team and should work hand-in-hand; after talking to so many loan officers, and so many real estate agents, they are more divided than they should be the industry has turned into. What can you give me versus less work together and help our client which is typically a mutual client, whether your a buyers agent, or a selling agent as a real estate personnel And there’s a loan officer helping to close the deal .

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My brand is Sire & Co. I am a mortgage loan originator I am a signing agent, I am a mobile notary, and I am also a business and credit consultant I’ve served over 10 years in a healthcare system and crossed over to the mortgage industry about five years ago. My goal of crossing over was to help, the community become homeowners. My goal was to be an asset and a resource, for those who may not feel like they are capable of starting a business or capable of becoming a homeowner or investor.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One important lesson that I had to unlearn was that everyone may not be asked resourceful, and it may be because they are unaware, or do not have the resources to educate themselves. I was a strong believer that everyone had access to the same resources and could interpret them and use them, but in reality, some people need that extra hand to help them understand what they are reading what they are, hearing what they are researching, and that’s OK for me that gives me the opportunity to step in and be that conduit for them so that they can obtain the information and apply it

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The story behind my social media is that it is ongoing. I am realizing that social media plays a huge part in marketing. Social media has taken over our day-to-day and all aspects of our lives, and to think that you could perhaps be a small brand and branch off without investing in a social media audience it’s a lot more difficult than back in the day, so for me, I am starting to branch out I’m learning how to use TikTok. I am writing blogs on my website and Linking into my Facebook social media. I have joined groups on Facebook and just trying to keep my brand aware whether I am putting out content that one individual may need; it’s just the idea of being able to continuously see my brand float around social media in hopes it will eventually reach the right person or group!
