We were lucky to catch up with Sheena Eizmendiz recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Sheena, thanks for joining us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
I started my business when I was 23 years old. A recently divorced mom of two, ages 11 months and 4 years old. It had always been a passion of mine to work for myself since I was in high school. I wanted to start a business that was purpose-driven within the hypnotherapy and coaching industry. Back then, there wasn’t a buzz around coaching. Very few people even knew what either services were. I was in college pursuing a psychology degree, at the time. It wasn’t easy to start the business because I didn’t have any prior business experience or a role model to go to for advice. I was young, but I was very determined. From the start, I knew I had to figure out who my clients would be and what kinds of problems I would be solving for them. That’s when I began focusing my work on trauma. I felt very confident about the tools I would be using to help people understand their experiences and offer solutions to live a happier and healthier life. It took me a few years of being on my own before I decided to expand and scale my business, thus I and began to hire and a full team to join me. At one point, we were a total of seven practitioners in my office offering mental health, psychological assessments and hypnotherapy. The business kept growing year after year as we continued to serve thousands of clients who were in need of personal and leadership development.

Once deemed, the “Coaching Expert” by Miami’s iHeart Radio’s Y-100 Station for my weekly talk show, Hump Day Therapy, whereby, I coached couples in toxic relationships. My methodology combines Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Hypnotherapy, and Mindset Coaching when working with victims of abuse, trauma, and addictions. I’m passionate about social causes related to human and civil rights and prison reform, philanthropy and passionately speaks on the topics of resilience, truth, and change.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Picasso once said, “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” Social Media is a great platform to do just that. I use my social media to provide as much content as possible to my followers. I enjoy giving away my gifts by sharing coaching tips, strategies and methodologies that can support their personal and executive development. I’m not on it to get more traction or more followers, I’m in it because I want to give as much support as possible to those who follow me.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Word of mouth continues to stand the test of time. The majority of our business is referrals. Clients we have worked with who have seen results and who trust in the work we do. They are our biggest fans and allies. They tell their friends and family about their experience and they drive all the traffic our way by doing so.
