We recently connected with Sheek and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Sheek, thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I realized my passion for pursuing a creative career during my freshman year of high school. While my peers were discussing their future professions after graduation, I was drawn to the arts and sports, areas I had always been passionate about, and knew I wanted to continue exploring those paths professionally.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi, I’m Sheek a creative consultant based in Kissimmee Florida. I am a full time purpose pusher with a knack for helping creatives refine and build their personal brands. My role is to guide and motivate creatives in transforming their unique personality and brand into a thriving, functional, and successful business with the potential for significant growth. The concept of becoming a creative consultant took root during my university years. Among my peers, I earned the title “the idea generator” due to my knack for generating innovative concepts. As time progressed and my classmates increasingly turned to me for creative guidance in group projects, I naturally evolved into the role of a creative consultant. My fascination with the world of media was ignited when my very first post on social media went viral in 2017. Experiencing the instant success of that post piqued my curiosity about the psychology of the human mind and social media. I was eager to understand the science behind the art of audience building on social platforms, both for my own benefit and for others. This pursuit eventually led me to pursue a bachelor’s degree in media communications at Full Sail University. What sets me apart from others is my vision. My perspective is distinctive and unconventional. I approach life and creativity with a unique lens, driven by my faith in God and love for deeper meanings. I am a naturally gifted creator, pioneering by using the multitude of talents I posses to blend the past with the present to forge something entirely new. My greatest source of pride is the unwavering resilience I’ve shown on my journey. Despite numerous opportunities to quit, I’ve consistently chosen to overcome the challenges.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
One element I initially underestimated in my journey was the effectiveness of networking. Like many, I found myself reaching out to creators whose work I admired in the hopes of gaining recognition and potential collaborations, However, this approach yielded no results and often left my messages unread. After dwelling on these rejections for a while, I came across an interview with Issa Rae that transformed my perspective. In the interview, she emphasized that we shouldn’t solely aim to network upwards but should also network horizontally. Inspired by this idea, I began to view my friends, colleagues, and classmates as my network and tapped into them as valuable resources. Through this shift in approach, I discovered that collaborating with those within my immediate circle provided me with more significant experiences, and opportunities started to flow more readily my way.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most gratifying element of being a creative, in my opinion, is the creative process itself. Taking an initial idea and purposefully laboring to transform it into a tangible 3D reality, as closely aligned with the original vision as possible, is exceptionally captivating. This is what I find most enjoyable about the act of creating.
