We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful She 23. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with She below.
She, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
I have released my first music project “2H3EO” (pronounced she-e-o) the EP. This project was released in July of 2022. This project was 4 years in the making as I’ve started writing songs for this project back in 2018. 2H3EO is in dedication to being the ultimate boss babe. Overcoming challenges, pushing through self confidence and finding love are the main topics of this project. I have been pursuing music professionally for 13 years and have been working on releasing a full length project for 5 years prior to this release. and finally reaching a point of being able to release this project was a great mile stone to hit, This project also meant a lot as it showed my true music sounds. I’ve been working on rebranding my music, my style and vibe and have reached a great pocket of being able to understand what my sound is and sharing my life stories.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a music artist, songwriter and event coordinator born and raised in Austin,TX. I have been performing for 20 years and I have been pursing music professionally for 13 years. I grew up in a family that has always been musically inclined. I started off as a child singing and dancing. I would play American idol with my family and spent my recess with friends recreating the choreography from the Cheetah Girls. I started songwriting at the age of 11 and knew that I wanted to write songs for myself and others. Growing up I was involved in several singing programs that helped with my vocal training and gave me the opportunities as a teenager to perform. I have blessed to perform and choreograph for official stages such as The Austin Rodeo, SXSW, Pecan Fest, Austin Urban Music Fest, Jump On It and more. I label myself as I music artist, as I alternate between singing and rapping and allow myself to flow and express freely. WhatI think sets me apart is being multi-talented in multiple area of the entertainment, ent industry but also my love for business. I want to be more than just a music artist. I want to develop my ideas into successful businesses and create opportunities for others.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I’ve recently just made a pivot in my life. As side from music- I have a background in management and leadership. For the past 5 years I was dedicated to a full time job, with overtime I climbed the ladder and gained a management position running a shop. This job was something I worked at 6 days at out of the week, constant emails, problem solving for a team and etc. I was the go to for all things and that position ended up draining me. I put less effort into myself and while I worked full time there, was still pushing for music career HARD. I would work a 8 hour shift and then head to a show, stay out late and would turn around and have to be at the work the next morning. This job started to make physically sick as it also was a big weight on the mental and emotionally stability. After just about 5 years I decided to leave that job 2 months ago and now working as a full time music artist. This was the best decision I ever made. I am not on the right path to spearhead my music career and dreams. I was a big step and it definitely changed my life.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me it is being different. I think living as a creative changes your perspective, how look and maneuver in life and I’m happy to be apart of that group. I think having a creative mind, thinking in ways that nobody can think, or even creating art that people fall in love with, understand and can even inspire others to be creative is the best part. I know that they way I think and work are different and for me- I chalk that up to my creativity. It allows me to live life in color and to even color outside of the lines.
