Shay, appreciate you joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?

I hope that I leave a legacy of beautiful ripples in the world through my transformative work with women.

When women tap into their innate power it allows them to shift their energy in a way that inspires them to show up more fully for themselves and their family as well as expands their capacity to have a bigger impact in the world.

And as women focus on discovering who they are, what lights them up, shift to a more expansive mindset and heal from past traumas in their lives they begin a beautiful ripple effect that starts from within themselves and moves outward into the world and touches the lives around them.

So when I’m gone, I would be honored to be remembered for the collection of ripples that I helped to create and inspire throughout the world.

Shay, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I’m Shay Perna, and I’m excited to introduce myself as a Intuitive Mindset, Confidence and Business Mentor and the proud owner of The Perna Collective, LLC.

My journey into mentoring entrepreneurs started quite unexpectedly, just a few years into successfully launching my photography business. As I found success in that world, I began to notice something beautiful happening – more and more women were reaching out to me for advice on their own business challenges. It was heartwarming, exciting and humbling and after a few months of these interactions, I realized I wanted to do so much more. That’s how The Perna Collective came to be.

Our mission at The Perna Collective is simple yet profound: to help you become the most authentic version of yourself. We’re here to assist you in crafting a business that aligns with your passions, granting you the gift of time and financial freedom while allowing you to make a meaningful impact on the world.

One of our distinctive features is our holistic approach. We don’t just focus on your business; we take YOU into account. We believe that your personal transformation is integral to your business success. What I’m most proud of is that we’ve built a business founded on integrity, with a team of caring individuals dedicated to our clients’ growth.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

The notion that ‘failure is the opposite of success’ has long cast a shadow over our approach to life and business. This negative view of failure has created a fear of failure that is deeply ingrained in many of us. We avoid failure at all costs, or we pretend it doesn’t exist; sweeping our failures under a rug trying to ignore them, rather than just embracing them as normal. But this is a mistake. I’ve come to realize, failure can be a valuable learning experience.

I learned this lesson the hard way when I started my own business. I failed a lot. But I always took note of the failures, and I kept pushing myself harder, because I believed in my ability to bring the business I envisioned to life. Yes, I made many mistakes along the way, but I refused to let them stop me. Eventually, I achieved success, and I came to realize that those “failures” were so valuable and I’m actually incredibly grateful for them. Each challenge I faced, I hit them head on. They taught me to test, analyze, re-test and implement better and faster.

Now I am able to share my stories of “failures” with my clients and they can learn from my mistakes, my pitfalls, my journey, so they do not have to experience what I did. My lessons learned can save them countless hours of heartache, time and money!

But, I also proudly let my clients know that they can learn more from their own failures than from their successes, if they pay attention, and truly analyze their actions. Failures help you develop resilience and determination, which are essential qualities for success as an entrepreneur. Testing and iterating may allow you to find a path you didn’t expect. It may even move you towards an entirely new business! I tell my clients your journey has many paths and be open to where it leads. You might be surprised where it can take you!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

My journey to building a strong reputation within my market has been grounded in simple yet effective principles: making authentic connections, delivering value, and genuinely caring about people.

I believe authentic connections are the heart of it all! In an age where digital interactions seem to completely dominate, especially after Covid19, I decided to put a premium on showing up authentically in person or at least with long heartfelt phone conversations. I believe that people do business with people, not faceless entities. My approach has been straightforward: building real relationships that go beyond mere transactions.

I’ve attended conferences, networked extensively, and engaged with my audience on a personal level. Through one-on-one conversations and online exchanges, I’ve strived to create meaningful connections. These relationships have not only supported my professional growth but have also enriched my life in ways I never even imagined!

I believe providing value is the key to the trust factor and has been my guiding light. I’ve committed to delivering content, products, or services that genuinely benefit my audience in multiple ways both financially and spiritually. This dedication to excellence has earned me the trust of my customers and allowed me to continually refine my offerings to better meet their needs. I’ve changed the direction of my path many times based on their needs and I’ll continue to do so. Serving them is my priority as I aim to exceed expectations, knowing that value breeds reputation and reputation builds trust.

But in all this I have to remind myself and my clients that success isn’t just about personal gain; it’s about helping others reach their full potential. My sincere desire to spread positivity, joy and happiness while helping forge the best outcomes for my clients and colleagues has truly been the driving force in my journey. People can tell when you genuinely care about their well-being and success, and that makes a world of difference in building a positive reputation.

My commitment to the betterment of those I encounter in my daily personal life as well as my professional journey has opened doors and forged partnerships beyond my wildest expectations. By prioritizing heartfelt positivity and the best interests of others, I’ve created a ripple effect of positivity and success within my market.
