We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Shay Koloff a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Shay thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
Upon moving to Colorado, I had an immediate exposure to the good and the bad of business. I opened my first store in 2021, I had dealt with any setbacks, obstacles and challenges but it opened many doors for me to make impacts in the city and in 2023 I won the Best of the Springs, new store! Right after this great achievement, I went through life changing events and I truly was tested in my losing my location and going through divorce. I truly survived by relying on community to support my business!

Shay, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I originally got into gardening as a hobby but then found a love for herbs and remedies as ways to help my young daughter and my own ailments. I built my brand of personal tried and true remedies that has now grown into an herbal company that specializes in custom products. I make alcohol free product and assist others with incorporating herbal remedies and proper health practices for preventative care and long term sustained health.
What sets me apart from others is that our company is not a one size fit all. We believe in empowerment and truly helping people full care planning so they feel confident in their health! We make products for those seeking alcohols free alternatives and smoking detox items which we created with patent pending.
I am most proud of the community that has been built around our classes, workshops and outreach. We have achieved all milestones from awards to BBB accreditation and it shows how much an impact our company has made. I’m happy to be help others advocate for medical freedom and continue to enrich others with skills of self reliance.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
What I think is most helpful for succeeding in this field is passion. Having the heart to helping others and healing others is an innate sense of purpose that many can’t help but gravitate towards and I’m one of those people. If you receive immense joy from healing others then you will always find yourself consistently sharing your skills.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Originally I am a gardener and when I moved here to Colorado I met a permacultural gardener who introduced me to many different people and experiences while working as a landscaper for the first few years I lived here. This helped me build a connection with communities such as non-profits and local garden jobs where I was able to grow my hands on expertise with Colorado landscaping and native plants. I used that knowledge to utilize knowledge as a now certified permaculture garden designer which has help people trust in my knowledge as I have shared and helped many people with herbal and plant assistance in my years in this field.
