Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Shavee Ho. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Shavee, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Today, I want to share with you the personal journey that led me to create my makeup company, S.H.E BEAUTY DEFINED. It is a reflection of who I am as a wife, a mother, and an entrepreneur, and how I discovered the importance of self-care and self-discovery in my own life.
As a busy woman juggling multiple roles, finding time for myself was a luxury. I often put myself last, prioritizing the needs of my family and my business above my own. However, I realized that taking care of myself was crucial for my overall well-being and happiness.
Makeup had always been a therapeutic outlet for me, a way to express myself and feel confident. But as I went through the challenges of postpartum and entrepreneurship, I found it increasingly difficult to find the time for glam time, as I like to call it. I looked in the mirror and saw a reflection that I no longer recognized.
It was during this period of self-reflection that I realized I was not alone in this struggle. Many of my clients, fellow women on the go, faced the same challenges. They too felt overwhelmed, exhausted, and disconnected from themselves.
I made a conscious decision to prioritize my mental health and embark on a journey of self-discovery. I fell in love with the process of rediscovering who I was, beyond the roles I played in my life. It was a transformative experience that I wanted to share with other women.
And so, S.H.E BEAUTY DEFINED was born. I wanted to create a makeup brand that catered specifically to the woman on the go, the woman who needed a friend in her makeup routine. Our products are designed to be time-friendly, effortless, and versatile, allowing busy women to feel beautiful and put-together in minimal time.
But S.H.E BEAUTY DEFINED is more than just makeup. It is a symbol of self-care, self-love, and self-discovery. It is a reminder to women everywhere that they deserve to prioritize themselves, even in the midst of their busy lives.
Through our brand, we aim to empower women to embrace their own unique beauty and to find joy in the process of self-discovery. We want to create a community where women can support and uplift one another, sharing their stories and experiences, and inspiring each other to prioritize their own well-being.
Starting S.H.E BEAUTY DEFINED has been a deeply personal journey for me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share it with all of you. I hope that our brand can serve as a reminder to women everywhere that they are deserving of self-care, self-love, and self-discovery.
In conclusion, S.H.E BEAUTY DEFINED is not just a makeup company; it is a reflection of who I am and the journey I have been on. It is a reminder that even in the midst of our busy lives, we can find the time to prioritize ourselves and discover our own unique beauty.
Thank you.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hello there! My name is Shavée Ho, and I am the owner of S.H.E Beauty Defined. I am thrilled to be here today to share my story and tell you all about my brand.
I got into the beauty industry because I have always been passionate about helping women feel confident and beautiful. From a young age, I discovered my love for hairstyling and makeup. I remember styling my late Gammie’s (grandmother’s) hair using the entire container of vaseline! Although it took her 2 days to remove it all, the sense of joy and fulfillment I had was so worth it. That’s when I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in cosmetology and make a positive impact on women’s lives.
But my journey didn’t stop there. In 2020, I faced a challenging period in my life, battling with depression. It was during this time that I realized the importance of self-discovery and self-reflection. I wrote a book called “Mirror Mirror: 30 Days to Living Your Reflection,” which chronicles my journey towards self-acceptance and finding inner strength. This experience inspired me to merge therapy and beauty, using my expertise to help women see their true reflection and promote mental well-being.
At S.H.E Beauty Defined, we provide time-friendly products for busy women who are always on the go. We understand that time is precious, and our goal is to simplify beauty routines without compromising on effectiveness. Our products are designed to be easy to use, deliver exceptional results, and fit seamlessly into a woman’s lifestyle.
But S.H.E Beauty Defined is more than just a beauty brand. We are a community that supports mental health, beauty, and business growth. We believe in the power of connection and the importance of nurturing our mental well-being. Through our community, we encourage women to embrace their individuality, celebrate their unique beauty, and pursue their dreams with passion and determination.
What sets us apart from others is our holistic approach to beauty. We believe that beauty is not just about how we look on the outside but also how we feel on the inside. We empower women to define beauty on their own terms and to embrace their authentic selves. We are proud to promote a positive body image and self-confidence, and we strive to create a safe and supportive space for women to come together, share their experiences, and uplift each other.
One of the things I am most proud of is the impact I have had on my clients’ lives. Through my work as an image consultant, branding strategist, and confidence coach, I have helped countless women step into their power and show up as their best, most confident selves. Seeing their transformation and witnessing their success stories is incredibly fulfilling and drives me to continue doing what I do.
In addition to my work with individual clients, I have also opened a content studio for entrepreneurs to create media and host events to better their businesses. I believe that everyone has a unique gift meant to inspire and bless others’ lives, and I am dedicated to helping entrepreneurs showcase their expertise while highlighting their uniqueness.
In conclusion, I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know that they have a purpose a gift and they matter! If anyone needs support they can join S.H.E!

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn was the belief that success is solely determined by external validation and societal expectations. Growing up, I was constantly bombarded with messages about what it meant to be successful: having a prestigious job, making a lot of money, and achieving certain milestones by a certain age. I believed that in order to be happy and fulfilled, I had to conform to these standards.
However, as I embarked on my own personal journey of self-discovery and self-reflection, I realized that true success is not defined by external factors, but rather by our own internal sense of fulfillment and purpose. I had to unlearn the idea that my worth and happiness were tied to societal expectations and instead focus on what truly brought me joy and fulfillment.
This lesson became especially apparent to me during my battle with depression. It was a challenging time in my life, but it also served as a wake-up call. I realized that I had been living my life according to other people’s expectations, and it was taking a toll on my mental well-being. I had to unlearn the belief that success meant achieving certain external markers and instead redefine success on my own terms.
Through self-reflection and self-acceptance, I learned to embrace my unique journey and define success based on my own values and passions. I realized that success is not a destination but rather a continuous journey of personal growth and self-discovery. It’s about finding fulfillment in the work I do, the relationships I cultivate, and the impact I make on others’ lives.
Unlearning this lesson has allowed me to live a more authentic and fulfilling life. It has given me the freedom to pursue my passions and create a business that aligns with my values and purpose. I now prioritize my own well-being and happiness, and I encourage others to do the same.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Certainly! One story from my journey that illustrates my resilience is the time when I faced a major setback in my business.
A few years ago, I launched my hair extension line called Hair Entertainment. I was incredibly excited about it and poured my heart and soul into every aspect of the business. I invested thousands of dollars, traveled to vet different manufacturers, bought products from numerous vendors for testing, and dedicated myself to production, marketing, branding, and even organizing a lavish launch party. I partnered with influencers, press, television, and radio, all in hopes of ensuring its success.
However, despite my best efforts, the business didn’t take off as I had envisioned. It was a difficult realization to accept, especially after investing so much time, money, and energy into it. Adding to the challenge, I was also a new mother, having given birth to my son around the same time as the business launch. It became clear that being a one-person show and juggling the demands of a new business and motherhood simultaneously was not sustainable.
In the face of this setback, I had to make a tough decision. I realized that I needed to prioritize my family and my own well-being. So, I made the difficult choice to sell the business. It was a humbling experience, but it also taught me the importance of self-awareness and recognizing when it’s necessary to reassess and make tough decisions for the sake of personal and family balance.
While it was disappointing to let go of Hair Entertainment, I didn’t let this setback define me or deter me from pursuing my entrepreneurial dreams. I took the lessons learned from this experience and channeled them into new ventures and opportunities. I embraced the resilience within me and used it as fuel to keep moving forward.
This experience taught me that resilience is not just about bouncing back from failure, but also about recognizing when to adjust course and make difficult choices for the sake of personal well-being. It taught me the importance of adaptability and the ability to learn from setbacks, even if it means letting go of something we’ve invested so much in.
