Shaunita, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you recount a time when the advice you provided to a client was really spot on? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)

I had a client that suffered from UTI’s monthly and the medicine that she was taking for it caused a yeast infection. This was happening every month. We had a consultation and told I her she would benefit from a monthly customized  session and a foot detox to reset her urinary tract. She wanted to discuss this with her OBGYN and a week later she was back because her doctor agreed this was a natural alternative. The best advice I give my clients is that every woman’s body is designed the same, but it doesn’t always function the same. My Name is Shaunita Phillips I am the owner and founder of Sensual Selections and Spa LLC. and Special Selections Mentoring Retreats. I was inspired by the power of plant medicine because I started my menstrual cycle at the tender age of 8 and didn’t want to take medicine or be placed on birth control to help with my cramping. I starting researching and starting giving myself sitz baths to help with cramping instead of taking medicine. I starting helping my daughters, family and friends and anyone who had womb issues. I realized the power of herbs when Yoni( Vaginal) steaming dissolved the ovarian cancer of my late mother. To get access to more herbs, I went to Atlanta to get Board Certified by the “Queen of Vsteam” Tracey Bryant-Swint of Love My Womb Academy and I am currently 1 of 15 Instructors teaching this curriculum internationally! I plan to solve the issues of womb conditions in my community through a movement of holistic healing practitioners and teach our youth how to take care of their bodies at a young age through full spectrum mentoring. What sets me apart is my passion for educating men , women and children about womb care and its effect on family. What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

Word of mouth! People talking about your business to others spread faster than social media. I had to get comfortable talking about my business to people I didn’t know! Yoni (Vaginal) Steaming has been around for decades but people are hearing about this service as a trend, not health care. Demonstrating knowledge and results will grow your clientele the quickest. People want to see results!

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?

I love what I am doing, and I would do it all over again! As a Doula, you know I love babies so I specialize in fertility, post-partum, and womb conditions. The only regret I have is not stepping out on faith sooner!
