We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Shaunevalice Lee a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Shaunevalice, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?
The kindest thing anyone has ever done for me didn’t look like a grand gesture at first—it looked like belief. Real belief. The kind that opens doors you didn’t even know existed.
It started with my daughter. She was training at Granite City Boxing Gym under Coach Lopez. He was one of those coaches—tough, disciplined, but you could tell he genuinely saw something in every fighter. He pushed them not just to be better athletes, but better people.
At the time, I was just a dad showing up, supporting my daughter. I started taking photos of her training—capturing moments, the grind, the growth. One day I asked Coach Lopez if he had Instagram or any kind of branding. He told me no. No social media, no logo—nothing.
So I made him an offer: I’d handle his social media and graphics for the gym, and in return, my daughter could continue training. It was simple. Fair. Or at least that’s what I thought it was.
But to him, it meant something more.
A few months later, he called me and asked if I could come by the gym. When I got there, he said, “I’ve got someone I want you to meet.” That’s when I was introduced to Honorable C.N.O.T.E..
At that moment, I didn’t fully understand what was happening. All I knew was someone had noticed my work. He told me he liked what I had been doing for the gym and asked if I could show him more. Then he left.
I sat there with Coach Lopez afterward, honestly confused—trying to figure out how someone at that level even knew who I was.
That’s when it hit me.
Coach Lopez had been watching the whole time. Not just letting me help—but recognizing it, valuing it, and then putting me in a position to be seen. He didn’t have to do that. He could’ve kept everything as is. But instead, he chose to open a door for me.
And that one moment changed everything.
From there, things started moving fast. I found myself at shows and events, meeting people I never imagined I’d cross paths with—DJ Magic Mike, Meek Mill, Pastor Troy, Sleepy Brown, Rico Wade, Big Boi, even Renegade El Rey.
But none of that would’ve happened without that one act of kindness.
What made it so meaningful wasn’t just the opportunity—it was the recognition. The fact that someone saw what I was doing, saw potential in it, and decided to pour into me the same way he poured into his fighters.
In that moment, I felt seen. I felt validated. And more than anything, I felt like what I was building actually mattered.
That kind of kindness stays with you. It changes how you move, how you treat people, and how you show up for others.
Because now I understand—sometimes the kindest thing you can do for someone isn’t just help them…
…it’s to put them in a position where the world can see them too.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I specialize in building strong visual identities through branding, graphic design, photography, and creative direction—helping clients translate ideas into compelling, high-impact visuals across both digital and physical spaces.
My style blends a “luxury meets street” aesthetic—clean, bold, and culturally grounded, with detail-driven execution that elevates brands both visually and emotionally.
I work with athletes, artists, and businesses to solve one core problem: presentation. Many have the talent and the story, but not the visuals to match. I bridge that gap—turning raw ideas into polished content, creating brand consistency, and helping clients stand out in competitive environments.
What sets me apart is perspective. I approach every project as a storyteller, shaped by real-world environments where performance and pressure matter. That translates into work that feels authentic, intentional, and connected to culture—not just designed.
More than anything, I take pride in building from the ground up—turning consistency into opportunity and creativity into real connections.
At the core of everything I do is a simple goal:
Helping people be seen at their highest level.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
My reputation was built on consistency, building solid relationships, and delivering real value—especially in spaces where results matter.
I didn’t come in with a big name or a large platform. I built it by showing up, doing the work, and treating every opportunity like it mattered. Whether it was a small project or a high-visibility moment, I approached it the same way—attention to detail, strong execution, and making sure the final product elevated the person or brand I was working with.
Being in environments like boxing gyms, live performance events, and sports settings also played a major role. Those spaces demand discipline, accountability, and performance—and that mindset carried over into my work. People began to trust not just the quality, but the consistency behind it.
Building Relationships are just as important. I didn’t focus on chasing opportunities—I focused on building genuine connections and adding value wherever I could. That naturally led to referrals, introductions, and being placed in rooms where my work could speak for itself.
Over time, that combination—consistent output, authentic relationships, and results that people could see—is what built my reputation.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
For me, it comes down to building relationships that actually matter.
I don’t approach clients like transactions—I treat them like family or longtime friends. We’re not just talking about the project; we’re talking about life, goals, challenges, and where they’re trying to go. That connection builds trust, and once trust is there, everything else flows naturally.
I also believe in being valuable beyond the work. If I can help, I do. If I don’t have the answer, I’ll find it or connect you with someone who does. That mindset turns a one-time project into a long-term relationship.
People remember how you make them feel just as much as what you create for them. When clients know you genuinely care about their success, they come back—and they bring others with them.
That’s been the real strategy:
build real relationships, deliver real value, and treat every client like they matter—because they do.
