We were lucky to catch up with Shauna Knapp recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Shauna, thanks for joining us today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
Yes, I was trying to start my career earlier but I was not allow to sing, karaoke go out or anything in my 1st relationship. I made a song called Rainfall and in that song it talks about a female in a relationship however is being abuse. I’m that girl. I was told I would never go anywhere, if you try to do music you have to sleep with everyone. Then I would have to sneak out just to karaoke and when he would find out lets just say it was all bad. One day a good friend of mine her husband did music and ask me to sing a hook for him I was nervous but I did it and once I got to hear my voice on a track I realize I can do this and move out. Haven’t talk to him since and been working ever since,

Shauna, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
If you don’t know who I am, my name is Shauna Knapp born in KCMO. Raised in a small town Edwardsville KS. Started singing when i was little with a pink boom box at daycare, to singing to my grandma and my aunt Cindy. To know singing and traveling working on a new album but there is so much more I wanna do and be at. I just graduated from Full Sail University and got my bachelors in audio engineer. One thing I can tell you is that you got to work at your dream. I have met and work with some amazing artist either shows or working on music and I sometimes fan out lol but I keep it together but inside I am like did i just speak to them and did i just do a show with them.
I am proud of how far I came from 1st thinking I could never do this with the neg energy in my home from a ex telling me I cant do it to know. I have 2 albums out one a mix and one called love is pain to now about to drop a amazing album that I took my time with and I cant wait for everyone to hear it.
Also to all my followers/fans/friends I wouldn’t be where I am without and I think you so much. I got some that have been with me since day one and new ones as i continue to grow thank u all so much

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
To be able to put music out and tell a story. Some songs I have out are for fun but most tell a story something I went through and I want everyone to hear it. I have a lot of fans that will hit me up and tell me that song got them through some stuff. I just love to make music.
Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Really the best resource I can tell is listen. I had a lot of people give me some amazing of advise but sometimes when someone tells you something your like they don’t know and I am gonna continue this way to find out u should of listen and look at you know. I feel like if I would of listen I could be father but I am def working on my career and at this end of the day its a lesson learn. We continue to learn lessons everyday.
