Alright, Shaun thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
My biggest risk I took was quitting my job making $25/hr at Pepsi as a store merchandiser I wolfed nearly every up to 16 hours in a day get to work everyday at 6 a.m. it started to seem like a repetitive lifestyle I was only 18 working there everyone there was atleast 30+ and have been there basically all of their lives I loved the job literally one of the best I’ve had great pay and benefits payed weekly it was the dream at 18 but everyone I’ve worked with always told me get a back brace get knee pads keep gloves on etc etc because over time yours hands will get cut up from cases and everything back will hurt more than often because of heavy loads and being on your feet I was already into making clothes and customizing shoes since my freshman & sophomore year in highschool so that was my side hustle I always had to have more than one source of income it’s key to survival so working everyday for somebody else and I had my own skills and talents to make money was hard I wanted to have more time for my craft instead of always being at work I couldn’t get my birthday off or any holidays I always had to work and I wasn’t for that lifestyle although being an entrepreneur everything is up to you so you have to prepare for those slow time find different ways to always make money and attract new buyers consistency is key!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am ShaunG an all around around Artist I’ve mastered each skills but my main focus is on Fashion Designing I love coming home with clothing or pieces that people haven’t seen I like to express myself through my clothes so since I’m a bright shining person I love creating different looks with glitter and rhinestones the shinier the better you can show me pretty much anything and I can get it done! I love when my clients trust me usually everyone ask for freestyle because as I work I think of something better to do everytime I accept everyone from baby’s to adults
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
I started working a 9-5 and instead of going out and sitting or buying things I didn’t need so I’ll invest into something towards my business I’ll spend my money I make from my brand yo buy other things but my job funded my business for me
How did you build your audience on social media?
I connected with my audience more u had to learn and scope out what they were more interested into seeing always coming with something to shock them never come off their necks
