We were lucky to catch up with Sharorian Samuels recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sharorian , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Getting that first client is always an exciting milestone. Can you talk to us about how you got your first customer who wasn’t a friend, family, or acquaintance?
I’ve been advertising my business through every social media platform, I even put out flyers and handed out business cards everywhere I went. I had just finished my website and I just knew I was going to have so many orders and appointments coming in, but I didn’t. On my website you are able to book a nail appointment, order press on nails, shop for clothes, lace wigs, shoes and much more. I started to become doubtful, because with my website I’m able to see how many people have viewed it. & I would see I have about 3-5 views a day. I would still continue to advertise everyday as much as possible! At one point all I would post or talk about is my business. 2 weeks after having my site up & running. I heard a notification I never heard before, it was a notification from my website. I was so overwhelmed with joy, Someone had booked a nail appointment with me, and not only did they book an appointment they also purchased a few things from my site. Words can’t explain how happy I was. I just started doing a little dance and singing “ oh yeah, we got a sale oh yeah!” I was super excited. I just kept saying to myself, “ It’s only up from here”.

Sharorian , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I got into the nail industry about 3 years ago being a stay at home mom. My daughter was only 3 months and I was bored.I need something to keep me busy. So I picked up a new craft doing nails. I eventually went to nail school because I grew more interested into doing it because who doesn’t like getting their nails done? While in nail school I started making press on nails. I then created a website so that I can start accepting appointments & sale my press ons. I then had friends who would tell me I should start selling other things as well. So I found me a few vendors and I added lace wigs, clothes, shoes, purses, jewelry, sunglasses, and so much more. My website became a one stop shop! It took me months to get my site up and running. When it was finally finished I felt accomplished. I felt like this was it. My goal to becoming a successful business owner starts here! Coco CheNail (She-Nail) is here and in full effect! My brand come with the best quality. My lace wigs are number one sellers along with my press on nails.

How did you build your audience on social media?
How I built an audience on social media is by post content everyday all day! I would sometimes pay for advertising to increase my views. But my biggest audience comes from tiktok. I post relatable business content that draws my viewers in. Ever since I started on tiktok my sales and bookings have increased tremendously. I get a lot of reviews that say “ tiktok made me doing it” my advice to anyone starting a business, just maintain a good social media presence. Post content on what you think your audience wants to see & pertain it to your business, & stay consistent! Consistency is key to a successful business.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I keep in contact with a lot of my clients, especially ones who book Nail Appointment or purchase press on nails. & Those who genuinely love the service and continue to come back to book or shop I created a loyalty rewards with them, where they get exclusive discounts, sometimes even get free gifts or services. I have one customers who purchase lace wigs from me every 2-3 weeks. With her loyalty rewards she was able to get a free wig. I show so much love to the clients & customers who keep coming back because without them i don’t know where my business would be.
