Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sharonne Lanier. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Sharonne, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
As an actress, my mission is to positively motivate people. I seek to participate in productions that aim to teach and enhance the joy and integrity of people’s lives. I want to leave this world knowing I contributed to making a number of people’s lives easier to live.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Acting has been in my blood since I was a little girl. In fourth grade, my teacher forced the entire class to learn Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech for an oratorical contest. I thought this idea was weird, but little did I know this would change the course of my life forever. I discovered I had a talent for performing in front of people. This talent would lead me down the road of acting and blossom into my undying passion. I studied Theatre Performance at the University of Central Florida graduating magna cum laude. While studying, doubts and thoughts of giving up began to cloud my dreams. On the verge of switching paths, my mother said to me, “I believe God gives you dreams and visions for a reason. Don’t run from it”. Since then, I haven’t looked back.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Persistence and dedication (with boundaries 😉), along with a positive attitude has helped to build my reputation in this industry. Also knowing how to navigate rejection and all of the “no’s” that come with the entertainment industry has been key. The only way to get pass the “no’s” is to know your worth and value, and WHY you’re doing what you’re doing. Once that’s solidified, people will take you seriously and want to work with you.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Yes! At the top of 2019 I realized how frustrated I had become in a career that used to bring me so much joy. I paused to assess what was truly going on. Through our culture, I had been taught that if you had a dream, you needed to chase it with everything you had within you. It should be your top priority without allowing anything to get in the way. Focus on your vision, your dream, your aspirations day and night! Well, that type of thinking had my life out of balance. Acting was all I would think about which caused me to undervalue my relationships, not only with people, but with God. That realization hit me like a ton of bricks. I had to learn that our dreams are not bigger than the Dream Giver. God has given each and every one of us passions. Often times in our desires to satisfy these passions, we forget that we should aim to satisfy our Creator first. He wants us to fulfill the passions He has given us, but He wants us to pursue Him first and foremost so that He gets the glory. Furthermore, He wants us to value the people He has placed in our lives and live a life that not only honors HIM, but one that values THEM! In the Bible, when asked which commandment was the greatest, Jesus replied in Mark 12:30-31, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Wow. Contrary to popular opinion, this response teaches us what our highest priorities should be. Lesson learned for! And I’ve gotta say, once I grabbed a hold of this concept, doors for my acting career started to open up like crazy! It turned out to be a win-win, LOL!
