Alright, Sharon thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
What I think it takes to be successful is truly believing in yourself and not being afraid to fail or be different

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I got into this business by doing hair as a young’s child and an artist as well it always allowed me to be creative. I truly enjoy doing natural hair such as locs braids and men’s haircuts being the first back woman barber in northdakota that was an accomplishment I’m so very proud of . I began teaching afte r being a barber for 7 years and still thriving. The problems I feel I solve most for my clients is being a listening ear and moral support. Yea I do their hair and help to groom but I truly believe the meat of it all is our bond and connection through life experiences. What sets me apart form others is that I’m very grounded and my focus isn’t the money but the people. What I’m most proud of is the growth I’ve seen I myself as becoming a Bette mother grandmother sister friend and daughter. The confidence, faith, creativity, and love I have for people makes me very proud to be who I am.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
The advice I have for managing a team and maintaining high morale is by leading by example and being clear with intentions boundaries and the mission. Be consistent and open minded. Know how to separate business and friendship etc. weed out all negative or people and situations that don’t grow the company or have the Same goals in mind

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
There sent any books that have helped but paying attention to others who have come before me. Being willing to take responsibility for my mess ups or bad decisions have helped me grow and change my thinking on how things should be done. Realizing that you are never done growing or arrived. Striving to do better each time and being open to advice and knowledge from ones who have been through it. Trusting myself
