We recently connected with Sharon Ringier and have shared our conversation below.
Sharon, appreciate you joining us today. How do you feel about asking friends and family to support your business? What’s appropriate, what’s not? Where do you draw the line?
When it comes to asking friends and family to support my business, I believe in using discernment and managing expectations. It’s crucial to understand that our loved ones may carry their own limiting beliefs and baggage related to wealth and success. For instance, if they offer what might seem like negative feedback or express doubts, it often stems from their own insecurities and may not be a reflection of our capabilities.
I’ve learned that sometimes, the support we receive from friends and family may not align with what we expect or need for our business. This realization has influenced my approach to asking for support and has led me to be more mindful of the type of support I seek from different people.
One interesting aspect I’ve observed is that those who have never walked the entrepreneurial path may struggle to empathize with the challenges and victories that come with it. This understanding has helped me draw a line in terms of what kind of support I seek from friends and family. I focus on seeking constructive feedback and support from those who understand the journey or can provide valuable insights, while also being mindful not to rely solely on their opinions.
Overall, I believe in approaching support requests with empathy and understanding, acknowledging that everyone’s perspective and capacity for support may vary. It’s about finding a balance between seeking support from loved ones and respecting their limitations and beliefs.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My entrepreneurial journey began with a longing for something more than the confines of a corporate environment as well as creating a lasting legacy. Despite spending much of my life in corporate settings, I never fully resonated with the conventional norms of corporate life. Deep within, I felt a calling for something more fulfilling, beyond merely fulfilling someone else’s vision. It was this innate drive that led me to explore various business ventures, each one adding to my experience and clarity about my true calling.
In March 1997, I took a leap of faith and officially launched Sharon Ringier Events, specializing in wedding and event planning. This venture allowed me to merge my passion for creativity with business acumen, and I thrived in creating memorable experiences for my clients. As I immersed myself in this world, I also became involved in different organizations, seeking to sharpen my skills and learn from industry peers.
However, amidst the hustle of entrepreneurship, I encountered a gap—a lack of support and resources specifically tailored for women in business. This realization marked a turning point, igniting my determination to create a community where dynamic women like myself could find empowerment, guidance, and camaraderie.
My “aha” moment came in April 2018 when I founded I’m Possible Women’s Empowerment Collaborative, Inc. This platform was born out of a deep desire to empower fellow female entrepreneurs, to remind them that they are possible, and capable of achieving greatness in both their personal and professional lives.
Through the collaborative efforts of I’m Possible, I have witnessed women gaining clarity, setting audacious goals, and achieving remarkable success. Our community is not just about business; it’s about building legacies, supporting each other’s journeys, and celebrating every milestone along the way.
In March 2023, the vision expanded further with the launch of Possible Woman Magazine, a platform dedicated to amplifying women’s voices, sharing their visions, and providing visibility to their accomplishments. It’s about creating a space where women’s stories are celebrated, their expertise recognized, and their impact felt globally.
My journey as an entrepreneur has been intertwined with personal growth, resilience, and a commitment to empowering others. I believe in the power of collaboration, the strength of community, and the endless possibilities that come when women support each other. As I reflect on my path, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities to inspire, mentor, and uplift women in their pursuit of excellence.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
During the COVID-19 pandemic, my business faced a significant pivot moment. At that time, I had been running my entrepreneurial ventures for just two years, focusing on building a community for female entrepreneurs through in-person meetings and expanding our chapters to reach more members.
When the pandemic hit, our plans for physical gatherings were abruptly disrupted. It was a challenging time that demanded quick adaptation. We had to rethink our approach and find ways to stay connected with our community despite the restrictions on in-person events.
This challenge became an opportunity for innovation. We swiftly transitioned to using virtual platforms like Zoom. This shift not only allowed us to maintain our connections but also opened up new avenues for reaching women on a broader scale.
By embracing virtual meetings, we were able to connect with women not just locally but also across different regions, even internationally. This unexpected pivot expanded our reach in ways we hadn’t imagined before. It transformed our business model, making it more resilient and inclusive.
I’m proud to say that our community thrived during this time of change. We strengthened existing connections and forged new ones, enriching our network and fostering growth even amidst challenging circumstances. This experience taught us the importance of adaptability and innovation, qualities that continue to drive our success today.

Does your business have multiple or supplementary revenue streams (like a ATM machine at a barbershop, etc)?
Yes, my business does have multiple revenue streams that complement each other. My main focus is on delivering goal setting, which I achieve through various avenues such as community building, events, and coaching.
In terms of community, I offer a membership for female entrepreneurs. This membership not only provides resources to help them advance their businesses but also creates an environment where they can support each other as mentors and accountability partners. We organize mastermind sessions and micro-events where members can share their expertise, fostering growth while building a strong community.
I strongly believe in the power of collaboration and empowerment, which is why I launched Possible Woman Magazine. This platform gives women a voice to share their expertise and support other women in business, further enhancing our community’s impact.
Events are another key component of our revenue streams. We host retreats and bootcamps, providing immersive experiences for entrepreneurs to learn and grow together.
Additionally, I offer personalized services such as one-on-one strategy sessions, VIP sessions, and group coaching intensives as a small business alignment strategist. These services complement our broader offerings and cater to individual needs, ensuring a comprehensive approach to supporting entrepreneurs in achieving their goals.
