Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sharon Gibson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sharon , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
To be successful at anything, as cliche as it sounds, it starts from your mind. Having the right thoughts to succeed no matter the ordeal and deciding how bad you want it because no matter what, you will be faced with challenges which might make you question your decision or doubt yourself.
Nothing good comes easy indeed. Throughout my life, i have had to deal with a lot of challenges you can’t begin to imagine. My loved ones would say “You are a strong woman” but I will say I have a positive bank I fill with positivity every single day which helps me to navigate through life coupled with my spiritual practice of gratitude.
Last year, I set about 4 personal goals which were a big deal to me and to my surprise I accomplished each one of them with success. One being to take a national examination which was considered extremely difficult, an examination that lasts a life time and gives you credibility.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am Sharon Gibson, a creative who is very much interested in Education. I graduated from the university of Ghana with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Chinese in the year 2018. Yes, I do know how to learn Chinese and probably speak a little now because I haven’t been practicing.
Fast forward, what I least expected happened to me? I moved to a country and a different continent I wasn’t expecting to love this much. I call France my home. It feels so much like home and now I am experiencing most of my real adult life here. It is a crazy journey but it’s building me up.
In 2022, after writing poems about life for over 9 years I decided to create an audio of these written poems, sort of recitations to me. I didn’t know it was a podcast I was doing, neither did I know I was podcasting. Haha! But I fell in love with it and kept at it every week.
I made each season, 20 episodes and took a week or a month break after each season to plan the next season, before I realized I was creating a show. From reciting my poems to encouraging people on my podcast which I love to do to inviting guests and being the host. I experienced something traumatic in 2020 which changed my life forever and now I can’t help but think of how powerful the mind is which I have decided to help people recognize. You can call me a “Mind Guide”
I started as Gibson the Poet then changed my name to BEING SHARON GIBSON to add my personality and stories to the encouraging and motivating messages I put out every Tuesday. I am 2 years in and the journey has been life transforming “definitely not a walk in the park”. Prior to starting the BSG Brand, I was the founder of a modeling & creative company called Vogue Blenders. I thought that was going to be my thing, my last stop, my dream career but after 6 & a half years of doing that, I took a difficult turn and I can’t believe I am a full time writer now, an author, got a certification as a mindset coach and climbing my way to a career path that uplifts and helps people navigate through life.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Entrepreneurship is a journey and I noticed most people are quick to get it right. It’s about you in the beginning and you have nothing to prove. You just want to solve a problem or probably make a living that will make you proud of yourself or significantly add to the world and the lives of people.
In this journey, you will probably have to learn more than anyone else working a 9-5 or in a fixed field. Education and Innovation never stops for you. One of the entrepreneurs I love so much is Gary Vaynerchuk, his words have given me a perspective in life and in this entrepreneurial journey which makes it much easier to be consistent and focused. He creates on almost all social media platforms; YouTube, Instagram, Facebook etc. You will get more value from him than you can ever imagine. Also, i will recommend the first book I read from beginning to the end with full concentration which changed my life “THE SECRET” by Rhonda Byrne. Finally, remember that to be on this path you should be willing to Unlearn, Relearn and learn new things. You never stop learning and try not to be too full of yourself. Ego can get in the way of your progress so be alert.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn is that Life is hard. I said this a number of times and made a video on it but after my session with a guest, Renee Dutton, such a lovely soul, I had to change my words because words indeed are powerful and She said “you could say Life has difficult times and joyful times”. I did counter her viewpoint but upon reflection she was right. I started to say it that way and it felt much better.
This made me see that I am an ever evolving being even as a Mindset Coach. Our choice of words is very important.
