We were lucky to catch up with Sharika Harley recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Sharika thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
Now that I’m aware of Business Credit, this is the most important foundation that a business needs. Over the years, I’ve use my own personal funds and lack the education of separating my business from my personal assets. Building business credit has since been beneficial and highly recommended.

Sharika Harley, CEO of Style Rich. Sharika is a full time salon owner of Style Rich Salon, that only works one day a week behind the chair. Sharika took her career to another level helping business owners with their business, while running a successful online store.

Sharika, lives in South Carolina where she shares her life with her two beautiful daughters, companion, loving family and friends. Sharika is 41 and she’s a Taurus, A typical Taurean woman can be described as loving, reliable, artistic, attentive, gentle, calm, and patient. She is introvert and deeply sensual, with considerable moral and emotional courage. She has a practical approach, and stands on her words.
Sharika is the Author of “You Are Your Own Success” currently on Amazon. She won Hairstylist of the year at geechie one awards. She started a new found non profit called ear to ear foundation, where she found a team of her peers to help feed the homeless. She was featured in Syllabus magazine. Moving forward She got her medical wig certification, Dot Certification and the owner of a family operated trucking company.
Sharika came straight out of cosmetology school into her own salon, making this her 10th year in business. Sharika loves the beauty industry, it hasn’t been all fair but definitely worth continuing the path. Each day has made her wiser and that has been the lead way to her new founded careers.
Sharika, is very passionate and always wanted everyone around her to believe “You Are Your Own Success” and while you are waiting on family/friends the world is waiting on you.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media is definitely the new tool around and all though the word of mouth is still the best for advertising. I would learn all social and look to see what the gurus do. One way to promote is to know your audience time, are they more online in the mornings or afternoon. I would post consistently every morning and have a plan on what I was going to post. I will never suggest coming on as a sale person everyday, try building trust in your audience with something they actually need and they will purchase from you.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I’m now the proud owner of an eventspace called Next Vision Events. Next Vision Events was build off of leveraging my business credit. This business was the blueprint to more businesses being created.
