We were lucky to catch up with Sharece Young recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sharece , appreciate you joining us today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
Hair Youphoria was developed to offer the consumer a euphoric hair extension experience. The love of the beauty industry brought Hair Youphoria Extensions to life. When the market began to grow, quality plummeted. We felt inspired to develop a product that would not only last its workmanship but also offer you versatility and freedom.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hair Youphoria Extensions was founded by Sharece. Her passion for beauty and hair care began as a little girl. During her career Sharece worked part-time as a hair stylist while working full-time in corporate America. The knowledge and experience she gained in her corporate career allowed her to to establish and run Hair Youphoria Extensions full time.. She later opened Hair Youphoria Salon in Tampa, FL.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
COVID-19 changed business as we know it. The stay-at-home orders and fear of contracting the virus put the beauty industry in a position where it had to pivot — and Hair Youphoria was not exempt. We transitioned to a retail-based format in order to meet the ever-changing needs of our clientele. However, we were able to get back to our love of seeing clients in the salon once it became safe to service them again.
We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process.
During her years as a stylist, it grieved her to witness her clients waste money on poor-quality hair. She began extensive research and testing to identify high-quality products that would last for as long as an install. Sharece ultimately discovered a product that could save consumers money many times over.
