We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sharde Harrison a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Sharde , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

Success Mentoring Program is a mentoring program for high school females ages 13-18. Our program offers fun and engaging activities that is geared towards focusing on leadership.

To equip students with life success skills that will mature and empower them to conquer challenges in life.

Success Mentoring Program was developed through the influence of our founder Shardè Harrison’s grandmother and mentor. Through their leadership and guidance, Shardè decided to create a program for our youth..
Success Mentoring Program is a program that provides a safe and fun place for young woman to lean grow and be around other young women.

How did you build your audience on social media?

We use social media platforms to share information with others. We share highlights of our programs as well as keeping our followers informed of what’s happening with our program. We keep our followers engaged.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

A lesson I had to unlearn was failure means to pivot. I began working on developing and creating Success Mentoring Program in 2013. After years of failed attempts to launch the program, I never gave up. I kept pressing forward until I officially launched the first session of the program in September of 2024. This taught me that the program was meant to launch at this specific time. There was a reason why I had to go through those challenges. It strengthened my character to be a better leader.
