We were lucky to catch up with Shardae Perryman recently and have shared our conversation below.
Shardae, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
Learning tarot involved a process of unlearning.
For me, it meant letting go of my usual approach and focusing more on being open and receptive.
When I perform my tarot readings, I consciously set aside my own thoughts and feelings, creating space to be guided and allowing my mind to be impressioned upon.
This practice allows me to tap into my subconscious mind.
I quickly realized the importance of developing a better relationship with my physical body. When difficult emotions like fear, regret, or anger arise in my personal life, I’ve learned to treat what my body is experiencing and communicating as a conversation that requires further inquiry. This practice has deepened my understanding of my emotions and helped me navigate through challenging times with greater self-awareness.
I’ve learned that to effectively convey and interpret the messages or stories that come through in a reading I needed to build a stronger tolerance and a greater vocabulary for the wide range of emotions that I experience throughout my life.
I draw inspiration from incredible readers like Roseology, Shonnetta’s Divine Tarot, and Queen Cup. Their content has taught me the essence of delivering truly insightful readings.
If I could change one thing to boost my confidence in my readings sooner as a beginner, I would have started by not using reversals. If the energy is there you will pick it up. For beginners, reversals can be a little distracting. Focusing on upright cards can help build confidence and clarity without the added complexity of interpreting reversals.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
As a practicing intuitive and tarot reader, I consider myself a creative. After years of school and working in various fields, I chose to take a chance on myself by channeling society’s most favored qualities into subjects that genuinely interest and come naturally to me.
Sitting with my feelings or those impressed upon me, observing, deciphering, intuiting and sharing my insights not only allows me to keep my mental, physical, emotional, and energetic body in good health it also helps me understand their connection.
Through this deepening practice of allowing, higher perspectives and greater realizations can be achieved for both myself and those receiving the message.
I enjoy giving our spiritual teams’ the floor allowing them to bring our attention to whatever needs to be heard in the moment. Sometimes we become so engrossed in our personal goals, expectations and ideals for how we believe our lives should unfold that we forget to leave room for the Divine to reveal it’s will for our lives.
When we recognize the opportunity for collaboration at play, we open ourselves to divine assistance and a higher perspective.
I choose to serve as a medium, interpreting information through my emotional body, picking up on situations, circumstances, emotions, and perspectives that guide me through each reading.
Initially I was drawn to this industry by the concept of mindfulness, being present, surrendering, and healing my traumas, along with a deep desire to learn about and love myself. It was this idea of fully expressing myself. To live and to feel alive while living.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Exploring the subconscious mind and adopting practices that integrate the mind, heart, and body is important.
Reading tarot the way I do requires me to be guided through a message one impression at a time. Over time, these impressions allow me to piece together a story that wants to be expressed.
I offer divinely inspired readings through tarot by tapping into my subconscious mind, which serves as a meeting space where spirit guides and passed loved ones can relay information and insights.
There is power in prioritizing your own experience when deciding to pursue something that brings you personal fulfillment. Reading tarot has taught me that when you release the need for control, you give yourself the opportunity to realize how guided you’ve been all along.
