Shara, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

I’m always grateful to share the story behind my mission and what drives me to get up and go hard at what I’ve created every single day.

Our mission is to educate people on the importance of homeownership and the financial benefits of how homeownership can be the driver to building generational wealth. When being strategic and mindful, real estate can change the entire trajectory of one’s financial future, setting themselves and their future family for a lifetime of financial freedom.

My real estate business is particularly meaningful to me because growing up, my family and I did not have a lot of money. Most of my knowledge of finance was self-taught. After some personal and formal education, it became very clear that the safest, most rewarding, and most lucrative investment vehicle was real estate. This developed into a love for helping people buy and sell real estate and teaching people about the financial rewards of ownership. Whether my clients have the desire to become investors or not, I always bring up that conversation during consultations, particularly with my first-time home buyers and/or sellers who have equity in their homes (which is 99.9% of them).

A goal is to expand on these services per many of my client’s recommendations and requests, to include one on one consultations and guidance teaching about real estate investing in the near future. A partner and I actually desire to begin doing this very soon.

For now, I’ll continue focusing on the mission – helping to create more successful owners for deserving families.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I am a full time real estate service, based in Great Houston, TX, brokered by eXp Realty. I provide real estate services and resources to prospective buyers, sellers, investors, and renters. I specialize in relocations, listing services, and assisting first-time buyers. Blessed to say I am growing and there will be some exciting changes coming next year so my team and I can assist more people with their real estate needs. I believe what will continue to set my business apart is the hands-on, great experiences for every client and market expertise. I know people say this often, but I am truly a number nerd. Coming from a 10-year forecasting/planning background helps tremendously in the kind of environment we’re in. People need to be able to rely on this kind of expertise in confusing times like these. My team and I are very hands-on and strive to educate and offer value to clients before, during, and after the transaction. 110% is given to every single person I work with. I have an established, tried-and-true system so my clients can have the most enjoyable experience as can be. My clients recognize this difference, and I am grateful to run a heavily referral-based company. 🙂

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

The best source of new clients for me are referrals from past clients or my sphere of influence. I am immensely grateful my business is mostly referral-based because not only does this strengthen my relationship and personal network, but it is the ultimate compliment from my past clients, friends, family, and peers when they refer me to people they know. Sometimes my business feels like one large circle of trust for this reason. I love it!

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

Initially, when I first pivoted from corporate America into my full time business, I saved several months of income for capital. Now, I leverage business credit and generate enough monthly revenue to grow and sustain my business, even in a tough market shift.
