Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Shara LEWIS-CAMPBELL. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Shara, appreciate you joining us today. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
In my previous writing and business, I discovered that I lacked direction, focus, and most importantly, purpose. These aspects are an important part of my creativity process and helps me write relatably to subjectmatters based on my own life experiences. I was contacted by a third-party regarding an aspiring poet from an underserved communitywho was having significant difficulty publishing their publications. Despite the difficulties and setbacks we encountered in realising the authors aspirations, I felt compelled to assist in publishing the new author after learning the backstory. As a result, we have since joined forces and become business partners. We opened Beauty & the Beast Publishing almost two years ago, which is now an international publishing and media services company that has won multiple business awards and serves aspiring authors and creatives from underserved communities whilst amplfying the voices of the voiceless. Andrew M. Foster, my business partner is personally responsbile for two of the company’s business awards, in addition to four of his publications taught as part of the National Curriiculum at both Georgia State and Clemson Universities.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Shara Lewis-Campbell is the Co-founder of Beauty & the Beast Publishing an award-winning book publishing and media services company. In the spirit of Nadine Gordimer, she believes all writers have a social responsibility in all arenas. Her speciality involves publishing aspiring writers atypically from the industry, providing them with a voice and opportunity as social beings, creatively through independent published works. Using their writings as a formula to demonstrate various aspects within society. It is her mission to create a concrete collective of aspiring authors into the industry who write from a place of integrity.
Shara has served almost thirty years in the industry, honing her craft and has successfully published over seventy aspiring author’s publications to date, in addition to her own personal manuscripts. Shara is socially conscious and a staunch campaigner of Restorative Justice and raises awareness by amplifying the voiceless through full inclusion and innovative expression.

I had always wanted to be an author since I can remember and started Beauty & the Beast Publishing.after having honed my writing and publishing skills for almost twenty years, I did not have any contacts in the writing industry and so made the decision to forge my own path in the writing business and have never looked back. Nearly two years later, the efforts are beginning to bear fruit. Our company’s numerous business awards serve as constant reminders of the vital support we provide to writers and creatives in their efforts to create legacy and generational wealth opportunities through writing for their communities.
Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
I think NFTs are the way of the future, and I’m excited about the prospects it represents for the future of generational wealth within the writing industry. As we move in to the next decade and begin to explore the possibilities of Web 3 it will involve significant change to existing business models who wish to continue on in their current business practices as part of the Metaverse digital experience for the future. For those within the writing industry it will allow for clearer definitions in particular to unique origins of works in terms of collectable and intellectual property, and will assist in streamlining ownership, licensing, payments and digital functionality. Enabling both writers and creatives to be better compensated through the potential of minting and Blockchain automated income stream processes.
