We were lucky to catch up with Shar Moore recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Shar thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Shar teamed up with long time friend and image consultant, Arica dawkins to develop the new salon. Hair salons are more than just places to go get your hair done. More than just shampoo and conditioning. The hair stylist can at times be the therapist, the motivator, the educator, etc. The salon is a place where people can escape. Come in with baggage and leave feeling better and looking great. There is More To Hair!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Moore To Hair was inspired by the works of Shar’s late wife Shawn T. Moore and Styles By Shawn. Shawn unexpectedly pass away in 2017 and left her legacy that impacted many people. Shar wanted to keep here legacy alive by continuing Shawn’s mission in the hair industry and being driven be her values. Shar retired the name Styles By Shawn and established Moore To Hair which Shawn Moore inspired.
. Not know anything about the hair industry, Shar was determined to keep Shawn’s legacy alive. He sought out consultation from two of Charlotte’s hair industry powerhouses,Tika and Connie, of Lucky You Salon & Suites and learned the industry first hand.
In July of 2022, Moore To Hair had their first annual hair event titled, Moore Black Girl Magic, that showcased the talent of there Moore To Hair Salon stylists as well many small businesses and creatives in the Charlotte area. The event was a huge success and is currently in development for 2023.
Our goal is for Moore To Hair Salon to be a great experience for each and every client we encounter.
