Alright, Shante thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?

When coming up with a business name I played with many options. Ultimately landing on “Scented Treatts”
which is a play off my actual name which is Shante Threatt.

I took the first initial of my name and removed the letter “h” from my last name. Although Scented Treatts started out as a Candle company, I wanted to avoid adding the word “candle” to the business name for many reasons. With one of the main reasons being that I always knew that I would expand and grow adding other items to the brand.

Shante, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Greetings my name is Shante Threatt, and I am a Wife and mother of 2 amazing young men. I’m the owner and creator of Scented Treatts established in 2015 an online based company. I am also a proud health care worker, and I’ve worked for a major University for the past 19yrs. Working in health care has sparked my interest in mental and physical wellness.

Christmas of 2014, I received an amazon gift card and had no idea what to buy with it. While browsing the site I came across a candle making kit and thought “let me try this out”. I decided to test out my candles out with family, friends and some co-workers they ended up loving them. Thats’s when I decided to run with the idea of creating my own candle company.

I have always known that I wanted to be my own boss, I just wasn’t sure of how to go about it. I say this kind of fell in my lap. I’ve always had a love for fragrance and used notice the scent of people as they walked by wondering what scent they were wearing.

Scented Treatts has expanded our product offering over the years. We now offer candle rentals and
“Do it yourself” options and Team building. Our DIY services were created to give new and returning customers the opportunity to be hands on in creating amazing Scented Treatts. We travel to wherever the party is no matter the occasion!

Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.

All of Scented Treatts are currently 100% manufactured, handmade by myself. Our product offerings are currently made to order to ensure best quality and to reduce any waste. I did not go into candle making knowing anything about the craft. I am a self-taught creator that is learning by trial and error. We proudly offer private labeling to help expand your brand if interested please contact us let’s chat.

Scented Treatts is currently an Ecommerce based brand, I currently design and run my website scentedtreatts.com on my own. I find it to be easier to navigate my business vs. using other sites like Shopify which I’ve tried before in the past.
