We were lucky to catch up with Shantay recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Shantay , thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
In 2020, during the height of the pandemic, I found myself reflecting deeply on the emotional and professional challenges many people were silently facing.
In the mix of still continuing my day job and wanted to start a hobby just as a lot people were doing.
With the world in lockdown and uncertainty looming, I felt a strong urge to create a platform that offered meaningful, educational content that could connect and inspire. So I created the podcast called A Dose Of Reveal.
The idea of a podcast emerged as a flexible and accessible medium to reach people who were isolated yet searching for growth and understanding. Also to review and listen to stories that were not being reviewed at the time.
Initially focused on educational topics, the podcast served as a way to share knowledge, stories, and strategies to navigate the rapidly changing world.
As the episodes progressed, I began to notice a recurring theme among listeners and guests—many had untold personal struggles tied to their professional and or personal journeys in life.
This realization inspired me to shift the platform’s focus toward individuals with business backgrounds who had experienced personal trauma.
I wanted to create a safe space where these individuals could openly share their stories, not just about success, but about resilience and healing.
The podcast evolved into a therapeutic and empowering outlet, helping listeners relate to the real human experiences with people that also developed business ventures.
By combining educational value with emotional depth, the platform became a unique blend of personal growth and professional insight on different business creations.
What started as a pandemic project turned into a long-term mission to normalize vulnerability in the business world and inspire others through shared experiences.
I hope that anyone finds an episode on the podcast that speaks to them. Thank you for joining me.

Shantay , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m from New York. I have a background in Psychology and Business. I later turned the podcast into a business that promotes wellness with educational content. One of the best podcasts to be interviewed by.
Being interviewed will assist a person to Gain the opportunity to discuss their small business mission, journey, products and services. Significantly increasing brand awareness.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Showing consistency with being a solo podcast creator is very hard to do. I do it all from development of the questions the artwork the bio of the episodes, etc.
Sometimes I what to give up, but look at such a gem that has been created and can be useful for the future.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I’ve learned that so much during this process of creating a business and being a solo entrepreneur.
Make sure you don’t your research before jumping into business.
Make sure you obtain a mentor that is helpful and has nothing to gain from you. Talk and meet with people that are passionate about.creating and not afraid to share the things that have worked with creating a successful business.
