We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Shantae Menendez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Shantae below.
Shantae, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
My story starts out as a 30 year old Entrepreneur From Jersey who was an event planner and vendors I used I sourced them out through Instagram and promoted my business on there. As years went on From 2012-2018 I lost my place of business called Kids Rule Parties in Hackensack NJ due to a fire and I had the Instagram page still active and I decided to make a platform to give Entrepreneurs like me a shot to give their business eyes and help them create a network where they can use it to collaborate and connect with others in their lane or outside. I wanted to Create a network of talented individuals and create a team
Of vendors and provide services. Like photographers, videographers and more and create an Agency and promotional services. As the page grew And it got its buzz it was overwhelming but so satisfying to see such a small idea really turn into something so beneficial to many creatives. It opened doors for others but also for me. I started to build a team of models and finally gave it a name, I called my whole
Team “Talent On Edge”. It started to grow from1,000 to 2,000 followers in less then a year and the response was amazing . I developed models and got in connects with other brands like TomboyX, Darucci Leather and paid campaigns and I myself started to model and become an influencer in the lgbt community to bring out diversity in modeling. Due to all the hard work and networking it had landed me in some huge publications. My story was shared in Us insider, The Chicago Journal, Nyweekly and more. Today I have a successful platform and production team of photographers and more who offer services and my platform offers promotions and more and monthly interviews and upcoming podcast called “On The Rise” where I again give Entrepreneurs shine on their business and let them tell me their story. Then this year I was able to become an official owner to a modeling agency called “Jamila Reine Models” and offer those services to brands and artist for videos and more. The goal for me is just to be the person who connects the dots and have people shine their creative light. I wish I had a platform like this for me back when I had my first business. I want people to know that am here to motivate and inspire them to continue to build and achieve their goals. We all need someone to Believe in us. Currently the agency is doing amazing and I get all the help from my wife who is Also my business partner.

Shantae, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
