We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Shannon McGlathery a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Shannon, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

Hair has always been my natural gift and my passion. However, finding a niche was difficult for me because I am a versatile hairstylist, meaning I can provide mutilple hair services. Throughout my 16 years in the beauty industry I experienced clients coming in with different hair challenges. Hair damage, hair loss, hair growth, and not being aware of what it takes to maintain healthy hair. Then myself and my daughter experienced hair loss. I began researching the science of the hair in depth, took a hair loss certification class, and gained all knowledge possible. I did this because I wanted to be able to help people and educate people on healthy hair, maintaining healthy hair, hair loss and hair restoration. The ultimate goal is to educate, inspire and encourage women all over the world about healthy hair (regardless if they are natural, relaxed and color treated) and how they can experience hair growth after hair loss.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Shannon McGlathery. I’ve desired to be a hairstylist since I was a young girl about 10 years of age. I went to Cosmetology school right after high school and shortly after I graduated from Cosmetology school I got a job as a commissioned stylist. 2 years later I transitioned to booth rental stylist. Shortly after that I obtained a job as a salon manager. The next step was being a salon owner. I now have a salon, almost 10 years in business, Divine Images by Shannon. I am located in Madison, AL. I provide multiple hair services (silk press, extensions, color, cuts, etc.) However, healthy hair is my top priority. I specialize in healthy hair care, hair growth, hair loss and hair restoration. I help women achieve and maintain healthy hair as well as experience hair growth after hair loss. I have my own product line, Divine Images Beauty Solutions, that is 100% natural and organic. My products promote healthy hair, healthy scalp and encourages hair growth.

I believe what sets me apart from others is my passion, the relationships I build with my clients, my professionalism and my dedication to helping them achieve their hair goals.

I am most proud of my endurance, dedication and ambitious mindset. Those are the things that continue to help me excel in my career in the beauty industry and achieving my goals.

My clientel base desires healthy hair regardless of the state that the hair is in, meaning if the hair is natural, relaxed, or color-treated; you can have healthy hair. If you are experiencing hair loss the goal is to help you experience hair growth after hair loss through hair restoration because there is possibility for regrowth. My brand is all about hair growing and flourishing.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

Social media (Facebook and Instagram) and Google.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?

I utilize email marketing.
