I’m Shannon Kaygi, the founder of Eossi Beauty. My journey into the cannabis and beauty industries began with a deep-rooted passion for natural wellness and a desire to create products that empower individuals to feel their best. With a background in hemp wholesale, cannabis technology services, and supply-chain management, I’ve always been fascinated by the incredible potential of hemp-derived compounds and botanical ingredients in skincare.
How I Got Into the Industry
In 2016, while driving Lyft to earn some extra money, I unexpectedly found my way into the cannabis industry. I met the CEO of a new compliance tech startup who offered me a position in operations. My journey into the cannabis world was fueled by curiosity. I began working in compliance software before transitioning to hemp wholesale, where I discovered the numerous applications of hemp-derived compounds. This experience revealed the vast potential within the industry, and I recognized a significant gap in the market for high-quality, affordable skincare products that harness the benefits of hemp while emphasizing sustainability and ethical practices.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
When it came to funding Eossi Beauty, I took a highly personal and self-reliant approach. From the outset, I have self-funded the entire venture. This journey has been far from easy and has required immense dedication and resourcefulness.
To keep both myself and my business afloat, I juggled numerous side hustles. These varied gigs not only provided the necessary capital to start Eossi Beauty but also taught me valuable lessons in resilience and adaptability. Every effort was directed towards nurturing my vision for high-quality, affordable skincare products.
The road has been challenging, filled with long hours and constant hustling to ensure the business’s survival and growth. However, my determination and passion for creating sustainable and effective skincare products have kept me going. Today, I am proud to say that Eossi Beauty is thriving, and the future looks incredibly bright.
Self-funding Eossi Beauty has been a testament to my belief in the brand and its mission. It’s a journey of perseverance and unwavering commitment to delivering the best products to our customers. I am excited about what lies ahead and confident that Eossi Beauty will continue to flourish.

One of the most pivotal moments in my journey was the decision to embrace a sober lifestyle. At a certain point, I realized that the party scene was not only holding me back but also distracting me from my true potential and goals. It was a difficult but necessary decision to move forward in a different direction and fully commit to building my brand, Eossi Beauty.
Choosing sobriety was about more than just giving up alcohol; it was about reclaiming my focus, energy, and passion for what truly mattered to me. I knew that to create a successful and impactful business, I needed to be fully present and dedicated. This meant making some tough choices, including distancing myself from environments and relationships that were no longer serving my growth.
The transition wasn’t easy. There were moments of doubt and temptation, but my vision for Eossi Beauty kept me grounded. I poured my heart and soul into the brand, channeling all the energy I previously spent on going out and put it into product development, marketing, and connecting with my community. This shift not only improved my personal well-being but also significantly impacted the growth and success of Eossi Beauty.
My decision to embrace sobriety and focus entirely on my business is a testament to my resilience. It taught me the importance of making sacrifices for the greater good and staying true to my vision, even when faced with challenges. Today, I am proud of the brand I’ve built and the positive impact it has on our customers and the environment.
