We recently connected with Shannon Carr and have shared our conversation below.
Shannon , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How has Covid changed your business model?
Almost all my courses and workshops have successfully moved online

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have been working with children and families in some capacity since I was 18. I have multiple degrees in child development and have worn many different hats in the field. Probably the most impactful was my time working with children and families in through our state foster care system. I learned the importance of meeting families where they are, the importance of relationship, and the power of listening and having a voice.
My almost 30 year career led me to earliest years of child development (including prenatally). The first few years of life is when development is at its richest and most impactful.
Today I spending my time teaching courses and workshops to families and professionals. I facilitate RIE Inspired Parent-Infant Guidance Classes, coach families, participate in home visits, and sit on a number of committees and community groups.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I first started facilitating parent infant guidance classes enrollment was not happening and finding a space was difficult. Part of the work that I do focuses on the idea of trust, going slow and the power of waiting. This journey of waiting and trusting for families and a space supported putting my beliefs into action.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Word of mouth, word of mouth, word of mouth!!
