We recently connected with Shannon Buzzerio and have shared our conversation below.
Shannon, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
Growing up all I ever wanted to do was be involved in fashion. My mother enrolled me in dance at an early age. I absolutely love to be apart of the creative process. But the makeup was something that stood out to me the most!
It brought back to the memory of my Mimi putting her red maybelline brown eyeliner on with her blue mirror. I would watch her every time I was there to watch her get ready.
Then the 90’s came and the Mac counter ! All bets were off then, I just couldn’t get enough. I wanted to do everyone’s makeup. I wanted to recreate every 90’s fashion model.
I counted the days down, to being 18 and applying for my first makeup job!!!
But I also wanted more! Since I moved around alot growing up ! I decided to keep traveling ! So I moved to Australia, while being there I saw so much that has carried me into the next phase unfortunately 911 happened. So I was sent back to America.
So I settled in a small town in South Carolina where I focused on school makeup also where I became a mom!
After he was born we moved to Florida as a single mom where I went back to school for makeup officially,
And In 2010 after working for many others I decided to hang my own hat! I created Faces by Shannon! By far it has been one of the best and hardest things I have ever done.

Shannon, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I believe in always going above and beyond for all of our clients!
I know we have solved lots of issues for clients with especially since the pandemic
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Nothing will break you ! Even when you think it will!

Have you ever had to pivot?
This career has taught me how to stop and smell the roses, and that hard work pays off.
