Shanni, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

I am Shanni Chalese owner of Pretty Little Waist, devoted wife and mother of 4. In 2015, I graduated with a bachelors degree in criminal justice from Indiana Northwest University. During my college career at IUN, I was introduced to fitness and health which inspired my personal fitness journey leading up to the development Pretty Little Waist!

Pretty Little Waist offers waist trainers, sweat trainers, activewear, fitness and nutrition guidance to all women of any shape or size! I have been passionately invested in my business for two years. What sets my business apart from any other waist training company is that the design & quality. While it is not without hard labor, this journey has been very rewarding. In the short amount of time of being a full time entrepreneur the quality of my life and the women around me has significantly improved. It is my goal to continue to empower and inspire more women worldwide to have a Pretty Little Waist!

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

The most effective strategy for growing my business is word of mouth, referrals and clients testimonials! When people see good results/transformations, it makes them intrigued by what you offer

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

When I first started my business, it was funded by my career as a correctional officer! I had to work extra hours to have additional funds to invest. Now that I have a Shopify account, they have offered me capital to keep my business growing
