One of our favorite things to brainstorm about with friends who’ve built something entrepreneurial is what they would do differently if they were to start over today. Surely, there are things you’ve learned that would allow you to do it over faster, more efficiently. We’d love to hear how you would go about setting things up if you were starting over today, knowing everything that you already know.
If I were starting over, I’d definitely shake things up sooner, embrace more risk. I’d dive into speaking gigs and throw events without worrying so much about perfection. I mean, who cares if the room’s half empty? It’s all about learning the ropes and having a good laugh at your own mistakes along the way.
I’d also swallow my pride and ask for help from my community earlier. I mean, why struggle alone when you’ve got a whole crew ready to back you up? But you know, timing’s a funny thing. I’ve learned to trust that everything falls into place when it’s supposed to. Even if I wasn’t ready then, I’m feeling the momentum now.
So, my advice? Don’t wait around! Grab your dreams and surround yourself with folks who’ll cheer you on, even when you stumble. It’s essential to lean on others as we navigate our paths to fulfillment.

I met my amazing business partner of You Are Magic Media about 14 years ago, through a mutual friend. From the moment we met, it was like sparks flew because we both shared big visions and an unwavering optimism. We always dreamed of doing something impactful and leaving our mark on the world.

The best source of new clients for us has been through word of mouth. We’re intentional about every project we take on, and we always strive to overdeliver. We go above and beyond our clients’ expectations, and they can’t help but authentically share about our services, the energy we bring, and the results we deliver.
Both my business partner and I have built great networks and reputations within the Austin area. When we launched You Are Magic Media, it felt like people were waiting on the sidelines, eager to work with us. Now, we’re booked and blessed, constantly finding ways to expand our team so we can provide our clients with the services they need, when they need them.
