Hi Shanna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

I’ve always loved parties. One of my favorite childhood memories is going to Target with my little sister, grabbing a cart, and filling it with goody bag toys and party décor. As soon as I had children of my own, I dove headfirst into planning their birthday parties, always with a focus on creating unique experiences that would be fun not just for the kids, but for the adults too.

That same spirit inspired what has now become my annual themed summer party at my home in Brentwood, TN. I wanted to throw something truly fun for all ages complete with inflatable waterslides, face painting, mobile chair massages, hair braiding, and even fire dancers. Guests constantly asked, “Who planned this?” or “Who did all of this?” That’s when I realized maybe it’s time to take this to the next level.

Today, I love helping clients bring their visions to life and turning them into fun, memorable, and truly EPIC events. I’ve planned everything from baby showers and quinceañeras to murder mystery parties and over-the-top themed celebrations. Along the way, I’ve built amazing relationships with both clients and entertainers and I’ve had the chance to partner with some incredibly talented vendors throughout Middle Tennessee.

I truly love what I do, and nothing makes me happier than seeing people walk away saying, “That was the most fun I’ve had in a long time.”

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

As the owner of EPIC Parties a luxury event planning business based in Middle Tennessee. I specialize in transforming everyday celebrations into over-the-top, unforgettable experiences.

What started as a personal love for parties has grown into a full-scale event brand serving Brentwood, Franklin, Nolensville, and beyond. From DJ and foam cannon dance parties to tropical luaus with fire performers or stilt-walking magicians at backyard carnivals, I design immersive, one-of-a-kind events that are absolutely EPIC.

What truly sets EPIC Parties apart isn’t just the entertainment but the energy, creativity, and care I bring to every celebration. I’ve built trusted relationships with the best local vendors and entertainers, and I pour my heart into making every event as joyful and memorable as possible.
I treat every event as if it were my own.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

I think what really built my reputation for EPIC parties is a combination of creativity, attention to detail, and my commitment to making every event feel like an experience, not just a party. People started to notice that when I planned something, it wasn’t just a cake and balloons setup it was a full vibe. People knew if they were invited to an EPIC Party it was going to be amazing. When people were asking in social media groups for party planners people I didn’t even know were tagging me. That says a lot.

I pride myself on fast response times, and great communication. This is why people continue to utilize me and regularly refer me to others.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

I think a key reminder is that it’s business it’s not personal. While I do treat every party like it’s my own, It’s not my party. The client sometimes has a vision that is very different from how I would want but my job is to make sure that everything is seamless and goes according to the client’s expectations.
