We were lucky to catch up with Shane Feldman-Scarr recently and have shared our conversation below.
Shane , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
It started with us simply wanting to go to the beach, set up some equipment, and play. No lineup, no promotion, just us and our friends vibing to good music under the sun. But something about it felt different. There was this raw energy and effortless connection. It didn’t feel like a party. It felt like a moment.
We quickly realized we were beginning to foster a real community. People weren’t just showing up to dance. They were showing up for the feeling, for the people, and for something that felt bigger than all of us. That’s when we knew we had to give it a name. That’s how ADISE was born.
Since then, we’ve seen the community grow in amazing ways. Three DJs who performed together at one of our beach parties went on to form a trio called 3Piece. Three dancers who debuted at an ADISE event created The Beehive Dance, their own performance collective. These moments are a reflection of what we’re all about, creating space for others to shine and build alongside us.
What got us most excited was how natural it all felt. The energy wasn’t forced. It came from the people, from the shared experience, and from the love of music and connection. That’s when we knew this was something worth growing. ADISE isn’t just an event. It’s a platform for community, creativity, and experiences that bring people together.

Shane , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Shane Feldman-Scarr and I’m one of the co-founders of ADISE, a music and event collective based in Los Angeles. I’ve been actively DJing and throwing events since 2015. Music has always been my outlet, my way of connecting with people and expressing what words couldn’t. I started DJing in college, playing small house parties, and graduated to bigegr venues and clubs. I quickly fell in love with how music could shift a whole room’s energy. That passion eventually turned into a deeper interest in curating experiences, not just playing tracks. I didn’t just want to perform. I wanted to create spaces that brought people together in a real way.
What pushed me and the other founders (Luis Amaya, Zaw Thet, Rene Tellez & D.J. Bermudo) to create ADISE was our desire to do something unique and different. It started as a simple idea: take a speaker to the beach and play music with friends. No flyers, no lineups, just community. But the energy that came from those first gatherings was undeniable. People weren’t just dancing. They were bonding, collaborating, and creating. It wasn’t long before we realized we had something bigger on our hands.
Since then, ADISE has grown into a full-fledged creative collective that hosts beach pop-ups, club takeovers, and immersive nightlife experiences centered on good music, good energy, and real human connection.
What we provide isn’t just an event. It’s a space. A space for creatives to showcase their talent, for DJs to experiment, for dancers to shine, and for people to feel like they belong. We’re proud to have helped fuel the growth of acts like 3Piece and The Beehive Dance, both of which came together through our events. We’ve built something where people don’t just show up, they show out.
What sets us apart is our approach. We’re not chasing clout. We’re building community. We prioritize quality over hype and intention over trends. Every event we throw is a reflection of that mindset.
When people mention our events, they often say they’ve never been to a better beach party. That kind of feedback means everything to us. It shows we’re creating something that truly resonates.
To anyone just discovering us, ADISE is for you if you care about energy, creativity, and connection. Whether you’re a fan, a fellow artist, or someone who simply loves music and movement, you’re welcome here. We’re building something special, and we’re just getting started!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Definitely. One that stands out is when we had a full event planned: venue locked, lineup confirmed, flyer designed, and everything set for a Saturday Night. We had just gone live with the announcement when the venue contacted us, saying we had to switch to Friday instead.
That kind of curveball could have derailed the whole thing. But we didn’t panic. Within two hours, we reached out to every artist, confirmed availability, updated the flyer, and reposted all the new details. It wasn’t just about saving the event; it was about maintaining trust with our community and proving we could adapt and deliver under pressure.
The event ended up going amazingly well. People showed up with great energy, the music hit, and no one had any idea how last-minute the switch had been. That experience really showed me how solid our team is and how far we’re willing to go to make sure the vibe stays intact.

How’d you meet your business partner?
There are five co-founders behind ADISE: myself, Zaw Htet, Luis Amaya, Rene Tellez, and DJ Bermudo. We all met in college and bonded over a shared love of music and throwing events.
Amaya was the first person I connected with. He took me under his wing and taught me how to DJ. Not long after, I met Zaw through a fraternity we pledged called The Franklins, and we quickly clicked through our mutual passion for music. Amaya was already close with Rene and DJ since they all lived together, so it wasn’t long before we all started hanging out and throwing parties, some of them pretty legendary. We formed a collective called REM Label and hosted everything from house parties to campus events, including an annual Halloween party that grew bigger every year. While Rene and DJ weren’t officially on the REM team, they were always part of the crew and played a big role in making it all happen.
After college, REM naturally faded, but the friendships and creative spark stayed strong. We kept in touch, supported each other’s projects, and kept the energy alive. Years later, we came back together with a shared vision, and that’s when ADISE was born. In many ways, it’s been years in the making.
