Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Shana Clark. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Shana, appreciate you joining us today. Setting up an independent practice is a daunting endeavor. Can you talk to us about what it was like for you – what were some of the main steps, challenges, etc.
Desert Healing has been inspired from watching my mother battle cancer for the past 3 years. She is now at the tail end of the therapy and actively goes to a specialist in her home town that offers vitamin injection therapies. After attending only 4 sessions, her energy levels have increased, the inflammation around her joints decreased and she is able to live day to day without extreme amounts of pain. Watching her go through this battle inspired me to help others in the community who are suffering from similar experiences and would benefit from these injections. IV hydration will only increase the help to those who suffer from dehydration or lack of fluids, vitamin and minerals.
Shana, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ve been in the medical field for 18 years. Of those 18 years, 12 years I have been working as a Registered Nurse in various different hospitals all around the country mainly in the Emergency Department. Since I was a little girl, my grandmother always told me that I would grow up and be a nurse so I could take care of her when she got older. My passion in life has been to help those in need starting from the basics. Working in the Emergency Department most of my career, I have seen first hand where the healing process begins. It’s not after you are in the hospital, it starts before. Having the essential education and proper health of your body can prevent your visits to the Emergency Department.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
Yes, I love working as a nurse. It is my passion to help people. I always wanted to work. My first bachelors degree was Criminal Justice, but when I graduated I worked as an EMT for 6 years on an ambulance, ski patrol and emergency department. I decided to go back to school for nursing. It truly has been the best career move I’ve made. I love working as a nurse and couldn’t see myself doing anything else.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Understanding that I don’t know everything and am willing to always learn more. Listening to patients and clients and their needs and concerns. Always keeping an open mind from western medicine to Eastern medicine and holistic medicine.
